Morning,
Phew school run done. :T
Driving back to school filled me with abit of dread. I hate the school gates and all the !!!!!iness. Thankfully in the mornings we can drive through to drop off the children so I can avoid a lot of people, but I busied myself with the children and avoided a lot of eye contact. I want to keep myself to myself again this term, I slipped up a couple of times and got my fingers burnt last term and I am going to try harder to not get drawn in by anyone.
Eugh MIL has called and asked if I can pop over to hers today as her Android tablet memory is full and she needs me to figure out how to delete some things. We have had her spare bed so she will get her monies worth out of me with jobs for the next few months. I think I will pop over at 2ish, then I can only stay for about an hour before school pick up, otherwise if I don't do that she will take up the whole of my day
.
A lot of cleaning on the menu today, trying to get the house straight after the two weeks of chaos. Have tonnes of things to do so had better log off.
Have a great week xx0 -
Hope the MIL in law didn't keep you too long Steph!
We're off to the beach today with some friendsHoping we won't get sunburnt!!
Hope you can catch up on the cleaning today - our house is the same with more mess being created than cleaned!
Good plan with the school gates. Some women really don't know how to be nice to each other...I must say I generally ignore the dressed-up-for-a-night-out-covered-in-makeup mum's and aim for the rushed out the door in a hurry looking ones who are generally a nice lot
Hope you can enjoy the weather today - It looks like it's going to be a nice one

just had a quick read of last couple of pages. Glad you had a lovely break. Its funny how we are always pleased when they go back to school though!. I hate the morning school runs so don't look forward to it but it adds structure back to the day.
You are doing really well with your gardening, and chickens- how lovely to meet someone with similar interests and close by - hope the friendship blossoms:)

Hi Lhead,
I really don't know who I can trust at the school gates as they are all so determined to back stab everyone so have made the executive decision to pretty much stay away from all of them.
I must prefer it that way, I have the tendency to obsess over issues and make myself feel ill if I feel I have said the wrong thing to someone or maybe told someone a little more about my life than I should. I would sooner wait and meet up with one of my two closest friends who I pretty much know I can speak my mind and tell them my troubles without it being twisted and gossiped about behind my back.
Hope you had a fab day at the beach are yours not back to school yet?.
Enjoy the sunshine xx0 -
Afternoon.
Just back from my little Wednesday morning cleaning job. Just the usual of hovering and mopping this week, such a lovely old lady so I feel really appreciated which is nice.
Feel quite rough as I think hubby has given me his cold bug.:(
I have quite a lot I need to get done this afternoon but just feel like curling up on the sofa.
Here's my list.
Washing out on line and set machine going again.
Prepare dinner
Water Polytunnel & check new hens are ok
Water herb bed outside back door
Empty dishwasher
My HomeRoutines room today is the Kitchen so I should be thoroughly cleaning that too.
Eugh..............
Ds went to a Cricket practice club last night for the first time. He loved it and now wants full cricket whites and a cricket set.
It never ends xxxx0 -

Grrr I need second opinions.
I am annoyed at my FIL's girlfriend today. (both FIL & her are 74 yrs old) Over the weekend FIL gave us his spare King Sized divan & mattress. He offered it to hubby with no mention of money.
Anyways hubby accepted the offer and we bought it home. Then FIL's girlfriend asked if I could pop over Monday to delete some apps from her tablet as she didn;t know how to do it and she couldn't open some things because it was full, also she said that they were hoping for £75 for the bed . Even thought the bed was better than what we had it was pretty manky and quite obviously quite ancient. Anyway Monday was my first day with the children going back to school so a big clean up day and lots to do but I popped over at 230ish and deleted some apps from her tablet and left £50 on their fireplace for the bed (no way was I paying £75).
(Note: Her tablet was working fine when I left)
Then yesterday afternoon at 330ish I get a call from her saying that her tablet now isn't working since I deleted stuff. I explained that me deleting a couple of apps from her tablet would in no way cause her tablet to break . She then back tracked and said that it wasn't anything I did but it just won't connect to the wifi.
I was just cooking dinner and Ds then had Cricket club practice and I had to work this morning, so I said I would call this afternoon to see if it was sorted.
Well....To be honest, hubby has given me his cold bug and I feel pretty rotten so I didn't ring. She called me at 4pm today to say that it still isn't working and she needs to access it desperately so could I go round .
There are BIG disadvantages of 70 year olds trying to use modern technology because even the easiest processes seem impossible for her. I feel really pestered by her this week and it seems this happens everytime I get involved with them again.
I am getting dinner done for the children now as Ds has a mate over, then when I pop him home I will swing round to their house, although I said I can't stop because I have this bug that I don't want to pass onto them.
I just don't know how to deal with her, she seems unable to remember how busy life is when you have two primary aged children, massive veg plot, farm animals, three part-time jobs, I just don't have the time or energy to be chasing round after her everyday. It irritates me as she also seems to ask me to do lots of things that she is very capable of doing herself.
This is what usually happens and I get annoyed and then I totally back off and disappear which then gets them making sarcastic comments about how we never get in touch.
So sorry for the massive rant. Maybe I am being mean. I will pop over and fix this tablet issue (if there is one at all) and then hopefully she will give me some peace, but I find it unlikely.
Ok rant over0 -
This is why I'm glad my gran has no intrest in technology she would be bugging me constantly lol she's a nightmare with her phone x
Think it was a bit rude they offered the bed then. Oh no
hope you managed to sort it out so she doesn't pester anymore. I wouldn't have left that £50 either, i'd have got DH to sort it out if it's his dad and told the GF that i'd forgotten my purse with the money in
