I think that what you have achieved this year is fantastic, and then there will just be one more year to go and you can get firmly on your feet. Won't it be amazing when the money that comes in can be used for living a good and happy life!

    Hi Tootallulah,

Thanks so much for your post, I know its bad but I just want to be at January next year already, fighting off the last 10k.
    I'm so impatient :o.

Will be sooooo nice to have a choice of what to do with the spare £800-£1000 per month that we currently plough into debts.

We won't really feel any better off as I want to save for sooo many things, 3 months of expenses, New car, Holiday, etc etc etc, but it will feel nice to know that our outgoings are so much lower, so if hubby is out of work we won't have massive monthly expenses to keep up with.

Life we be a lot more secure.......JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Haha I had to laugh at this, you must be another Dave Ramsey fan. I will be sooo tempted to call him up to do my Debt Free Scream. Wonder if they accept UK callers??. Never heard any before. Maybe I can be the first. :T.
  • Hi all,

Just a quick post to check in and say hi.

I did my two treatments this morning and now gearing up to picking up the kiddies from school. Its end of half-term....yay!!! :T

Not a whole lot financially to report. Waiting on hubby getting paid this weekend to pay final bills for the month.

Been another NSD today, in fact if I tell the truth I have lost count on how many I have done :o, its been a busy month, what with going away, so will start again next month.

Speak later once kiddo's are home xxx

Yes Steph I am a Dave Ramsey fan he just makes me laugh some of the people that ring up on his show are in a really bad place with student loan debts and medical bills - I do hope that our country isn't going to go the same way.

I have only heard of one lady from London ringing through to ask a question about paying her mortgage off but never a debt free scream - I think you should be the first one from this side of the pond Steph you are a true inspiration and you must be dying to say "better than I deserve" (am I the only one that has a little chuckle when he says that).:rotfl:

I also listen to the YNAB podcast its only once a week but Jesse is very good and has a few tips on there aswell with how he has done things and explains a bit more on the YNAB software.

  • That's hilarious...I am also a Dave fan and do laugh at some of his one liners too...but he is right about so many things...I love the way he just tells it like it is. We are on baby step three...and the way things are going we will be there for a while :(

  • Hi all

Hope you are all well, Hubby has given me his stinking cold, so I have all the usual = sore throat, sore eyes, runny nose and hacking cough :(.

The Spa drove me mad yesterday, I was booked in for a 2pm treatment, which was going to be tricky as we were invited to a Thanks Giving dinner at 3.30pm, but I knew I could squeeze it in.

Anyway at about 10am he txt to cancel the booking, and then at 2.20pm he txt again to say he had forgotten a treatment was booked and could I come over straight away as the guest is waiting !!! :(. How disorganised can they get??. I apologised and said it was unfortunately too late for me to get over to them as we had to be at a meal in 30minutes.
I was abit annoyed to have lost out on £30 but really!!, he can't expect me to be at their beck and call like that. Its bad enough that they txt at 10pm to book me for 9.30am the next morning quite often which I can usually manage.

I have two treatments booked for Wednesday morning, but haven't figured out how to get rid of the children just yet. Have just txt a friend about maybe having Dd and I am hoping hubby would take Ds to work with him. Don't really want to lose out on another £60.

I have been abit naughty and accepted an invitation from a friend to go with them to London tomorrow to see the Tower of London Poppies and Buckingham Palace.
The Off Peak Half term special train tickets were pretty cheap and I have exchanged some Tesco vouchers for a meal at Prezzo so hopefully it won't break the bank.

I feel very naughty, but it will be useful. Ds has a project to do on WW1, so we are going to write a speech today for me to film him reading it in front of the poppies, it will be very nice touch for his homework.

Not much to report financially, still waiting for hubby to get paid and that will finish off all my bills for the month of October.
    Hopefully it will be today.

Had a wonderful Thanks Giving dinner yesterday, proper traditional American meal, it was weird, but very tasty. Really different to our usual roast dinner.

Hope you all have a good week planned xxx

    Debt-free and Proud!
Just catching up with you Steph - glad you had a fantastic break and so impressed with how you have slotted straight back into your debt busting - brilliant. Sounds like the spa needs to get organised - would they like to employ you to sort them out?! I bet you could do it in your sleep and make extra money on top of treatments. They definitely need someone to take them in hand - can't think it is good for business to be so disorganised!
  • I think you were right about the spa Steph...they need to try and be a bit more organised and I would say you not being able to accommodate them yesterday will give them a kick in the behind. Enjoy your trip to London :D
