Hi MM
Yes Ds had an amazing time, he has been busy making a bow drill since coming home and is intent on trying to make a fire without help. Unsure if I really want my 9 year old having the ability to start fires but if i ever forget him in a forest at least I know he can surviveeco_farmer wrote: »you do realise you've managed to pay off nearly 1K during the summer holidays! and you've reach 75% of your goal in 66% of the time! your a star well done steph.

Hi Eco farmer
Can't say I had really thought about it that way. It was nice to read..
I must admit to feeling more determined than ever this time round, i'm tired of being poor. I am excited about 2015, as fingers crossed my debt will be around the 8-9k mark by January and that will feel sooo much more achievable.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I had'nt realised that I was winning in the percentage's. Hi Baglady
Thanks for your encouraging words, I did feel abit like the poor relation while we were camping, because everyone seemed to be constantly handing over £5 notes to their children and I just would'nt. I decided on £5 each per day for them, with the odd extra treat thrown in occasionally. Heaven only knows how much the others spent. I decided I was'nt going to be shy about saying No. the whole reason for me doing this working holiday was because we could'nt afford to go on a regular holiday. If I then spent a fortune on stuff while we were there, it would have made it all pointless. Just hope that my friends haven't gone away thinking im a right miserable old !!!!!!

Morning all MSE'ers.
I have been very good this morning. My favourite country show is on today (Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show) and I have made a definite decision not to go.
I have also added this onto my list of "Things I have missed out on because I am in Debt". It would cost £24 just to get in and then with two children it would be impossible to be able to walk round without the usual ice cream or toy or heaven only knows what.
So instead I have my work booked in for 2pm. I will earn £35 :T
We are only just recovering from our camping and the children seem quite happy to re-connect with their electronics so an expensive trip out isn't really needed.
we have free tickets to Wookey Hole caves to use up, but thought I would save that for next week, to space our event out through the holidays.
I need to start thinking about school uniform. I think Dd's winter dresses are fine as I bought them rather large last year, just got to check her white shirts and make sure that the School shoes that were very kindly donated to me, do actually fit her ok.
I think Ds may need a couple of new trousers and I also need to check his shirts. Then there is school shoes for him .
Will tackle that all next week.
Not much else to report really, hope you all have a good day, the sun is shining0 -

Morning all,
Had a very busy few days. I did the two treatments on Friday and then had to prepare some of our frozen pork joints for after our local Oak Fair yesterday. lots of friends come back afterwards for pork rolls and drinks.
Was a super busy day, tidying the house and getting food prepared, could have done without the cost of it, but we don't host many village events for obvious reasons and this is the only one occasion per year that we always cater for.
Did'nt cost too much thankfully, but i have blown my food budget for the coming week so will have to make what I have now last until next week.
Had abit of luck though, a friend is moving soon and is giving away her large corner sofa. Our sofa is really worn out, uncomfortable and sunken in the popular spots. I have arranged to pop over today to measure up, I really hope it will fit as we can't afford a new sofa for at least another year +, so to replace it for free with a comfier sofa would be very exciting.
Thats all to report really. Got to pay the mortgage this week before the end of the month, and when I get paid the £122.50 I have earnt I will push that against my Next catalogue debt.
Got a messy house to re-tidy up again today. Its never ending!!0 -
Steph you continue to be inspirational, you're working so hard at this and wow what a difference it's making. That Next bill will be gone soon enough especially with the spa treatments, then the snowball impact will really kick in. What will go next?0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37
AFD March 2/15 NSD March 2/11 :T
Other debts paid since 1/1/14: £17,0050
