Hi Steph, just posting urging you to keep focused after the blip of the unknown debt totals! Once you have (k)nocked off Ne*t & busy putting the kybosh on Co- *p etc etc. Ok I'll stop with the witticisms. Seriously stay calm & soon you will be able to attack the T*sco's card. Would be good if they froze interest but even so once a couple of the smaller debts are gone imagine what you be able to throw at the remaining ones, let alone add to your savings pots. Well done with the spa treatments - it all helps. Regards Bl1 on a lovely nearly Spring day in Tasmania

Forgot to mention in my last post, your meal plan looks rather yummy. Might check out that River Cottage chicken curry myself - did you get it on line or from one of his books. Love that series - always makes me want to run out & grow vegies etc etc. Doing a small amount of home grown veg but not on that scale!

I think 71% debt reduction is amazing in the timescale that you've done it in so well done u xx

I haven't been keeping a log of how much I've paid off this year (naughty I know) :o but I find keeping a diary on here helps even if I'm waffling I find I stress less if that makes sense all now that the wedding is done I can concentrate on the savings as well as reducing the debts which aren't massive tbh but I'm still determined to get rid of them before applying for a mortgage xx

    Thanks abba,

Yes as much as a wedding is amazing, its certainly hard to save or pay off debts with that on the horizon. Glad it is all dealt with and now you can get moving with the debt reduction. xx

    Hi Baglady,

Thanks for your great post, I feel that once I get rid of Next, Littlewoods and Co-op which should be by Christmas, then next year will be hitting the last three biggies REALLY hard, i should be able to make HUGE payments too so will hopefully see the snowball really start working. just got to keep going, as much as I don't want to think about it, actually Christmas isnt that far away :o

    Hi again Baglady

The Chricken curry is a good one, its out of the River Cottage Everyday book. its a chicken curry from scratch. I have all the spices already, and after the inital investment the spice do last a long time.

I love Hughs programmes, does'nt seem to do many anymore, guess he has made his millions :D

    Hi Shinner,

    Thanks so much for replying.

My Dd is a size 13 - 1 shoe and is turning 8 in December. We love a hand-me-down but if you do end up with some left over clothes you must let me pay your postage costs

I am astounded with the generosity of this website, once I am out of this financial mess, I will definitely keep posting here and will send other struggling people clothes parcels, as I can't tell you how much it has helped us this year.

    i could cry :o

You are so right Buffy, I have had a few donations of clothes this summer and I can't tell you how amazing that has been.

I haven't had to buy the children anything new, I just didn't have any money for clothes for them so heaven only knows how we would have gotten on.

I will certainly make sure i "Pay-it-Forward" once I am out of trouble.

That's what Littlewoods is for!

Not sure what you meant SuperAlley?. did you mean get more childrens clothes from Littlewoods?.

I drew a line in the sand January 2014 with the determined decision that I would not increase my debt under ANY circumstances.

Unfortunately I got my family in the situation that just servicing our monthly debt repayments used up any spare cash I would have to buy clothes etc, which then causes a vicious circle of then HAVING to get more debt to buy things.

I decided to feel abit of pain instead and just "somehow" get through without adding to the debt. Thanks to totally amazing folk on here they have made the clothing issue a lot easier.

    Littlewoods means more debt !!!!!

You are right Shinner, This year is about breaking the cycle.
  • Morning all,

Still waiting for Tesco delivery that should have come between 10-11 am .

Had a bit of good news last night. I had been invited out for a meal with friends tonight, but I was on the verge of cancelling because I just do not have the money to eat out at the moment. All my allocated FUN money has been spent on the children's outings. Then I got a text saying plans had been changed and it was just drinks and nibbles round a friends house. I love it when it is in someone's house because I will be driving, so cups of tea for me and I just need a bag of Doritos or similar and its a lovely night with friends :T.

I have also decided to list my payments on an A4 sheet so I can colour them in as I go and to also try to keep me on track. I often have to print out my Snowball report again because I didn't quite make the correct payment for that month.

I am hoping having this bad boy stuck on my Fridge it will keep me going.

This works out to be based on £1250 per month repayments :eek:We current consistently pay £825 monthly payments but plus my new work of (hopefully) a minimum of 3 treatments per week = £105. (x 4 weeks = £420)

I should be able to pay the extra bumping it up to £1250.

This could all of course go belly up if work does not come through consistently from the Spa.

Is it too ambitious? We will see.....
