Yay well done on clearing and getting rid of the credit card.
That's my biggest problem I've blooming cleared a card and put stuff back on it now oh well luckily the council tax free months will clear it and then I will cancel and shred it.
Glad that the house is a lot better place for you, it's surprising how much of a difference living somewhere you want to be is to your wellbeing and big plus that Ryder's happier too.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

When I shredded it I had a girl in my office clapping so it felt like a moment to me
Thank you though, ideally I know I should have just cut it up as soon as I started to tackle the debt but I always panic, not in the sense of "what if I need to use it" but I know I need the details from the card to speak to the bank so it's counter productive.
Hope these are the months you get rid of it once and for all, Ali! It is just too easy to spend on it, I suppose that's how they get you
Not a great deal to report today. Found 10p on the floor at work, which magically floated into my purse. Will put that in my change pot when I get home. Been up since 5:30am to come into work early so I'm lagging a little now.
Need to find something all lovely and warming for tea tonight, we (obviously!) have plenty in so it's just figuring it out. I'm terrible for making mexican food when it's cold but I really fancy something hearty. And gravy.0 -
Fancy coming round and cooking for me?! No???
Glad shredding the card felt like a moment. I'm like that with my cards too, I'm so scared of needing the details so I hold onto them but I've hidden them now so I can't use them - OH has a card that we use for emergencies/big spends and he's really good at clearing it straight away whilst I forget all about it!I did get a statement from a card the other day saying I was £6.53 in credit due to a panic over-payment so woooo, need to find that card and get that money spent! But not a penny over!

I'd happily come cook for you, I love cooking! I wound up making a cheese muffin topped pie for tea - sounds weird but I made a stew-y kind of filling with lots of root veg and mince. Then make a cheesy suet kind of mixture to bake on top in the oven. Served it with sweet potato chips and it was delish, we both went back for seconds! Then I made a 3 layer caramel cake which was perfect, only had a teeny slice because I was still stuffed. Will be taking a good chunk of it to my parents today so it doesn't get wasted
Tonight we're having more root veg (roasted) with lemon herb chicken and fine beans. Uggh. Food! Then I have some steak hidden away for Valentines, will just need to get some potatoes to make chunky chips and something for a leafy salad. Have some fancy wine left over from Christmas too so there's that sorted
But we got paid a day early. Sweet!! Put £30 to one side for OH, paid rent and will take £50 out for my Grandad tomorrow morning. Will leave me with £135 in the bank but I have a few bills coming out in the meantime and next week is my lower wage week (been budgeting it at £110 but hoping I get a little more!) Another £20 challenge! I went over by £16.39 this week. Which is no biggie, it isn't like I couldn't afford to. Just annoying that I failed the first week!
It's my Nans birthday next week, so I've ordered her two books this morning. Signed up to the free amazon trial so I have to remember to cancel that!
Have to remember to do things today, send off details to close an account and details to change the address for my bank. Kept meaning to do these last week, I know the people who have moved into our old place and they've said they'll bring me any post so I haven't felt the rush to get it sorted. Which is the story of my life.
Taking Ryder on an uber walkies this afternoon. The weather has meant we've just had quick trots around the park in the afternoon, just hope little Fredster can hold his own in this wind!!0 -
I don't understand how it's Monday again already. Just, how?!
But we had a good weekend, on Friday I pushed the boat out and got us a pizza for tea. Mainly because I forgot to defrost the steak, but also because pizza. We were tucked up in bed by 9pm to watch Night of the Living Dead, which was sweet
Started tiling the kitchen Saturday morning as OH was out for football (which got cancelled because of the weather) Sadly I hate it and thankfully my Dad turned up an hour in and took over. So I gave the house a good clean, and we're finally at the bottom of the laundry basket. It's a beautiful thing.
Our insane gas consumption has also been fixed, it was costing us £6.42 a day to have the heating on last week. But the garden started smelling like gas on and off, so I had my Brother come to test the pipes and would you believe. Mother of all gas leaks! Now that's fixed the gas is down to £3 a day (and it's practically on all day) so now we feel snug and smug.
Had an uber lazy day yesterday, we cooked dinner together and made a cake for pudding. Had a nice relaxing afternoon, only left the house to walk Ryder and they're actually my favourite days.
Starting the week with £3.16 left of my £20, but we only need milk, potatoes and eggs (possibly) so I should be okay and I'm just hoping I don't overspend!0 -
Good job you got that leak sorted! Wowzers!
Got to love a lazy weekend! We barely left the house as OH's got his new game (nerd alert!) and is now on a mission to have completed as much of it as possible before Little Dude arrives!Funnily enough the most fed up and frustrated person in our home this morning isn't me, the week overdue preggo lady, but him, because he's stuck on a baddie that he can't kill! :rotfl:

Eek at the gas leak, glad you managed to sort that one. Sounds expensive!
Birdie your OH doesn't need to worry my OH claims looking after a baby is easy when they just lie on you while you play computer games haha. It is when they start using you as a slide you have trouble.0 -
Hey Cinny
Just wondering how you're getting on as it's been a while since you've posted.
If you're anything like me though everything's just ticking along and there's nothing exciting to report lol.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Yikes, I've really let this slip!! Need to get back on track or there's no way I'll be debt free by the end of this year, let alone end of October like I hoped.
All in all, I've kind of just been ticking over. Paying the minimum, but it isn't good enough. My debt has been going the wrong way these last 2 months and I need to take control again. Stop kidding myself because over all, money worries are my biggest stress trigger.
My current debt is £2205.10. £1200 of which is to my Grandad, so for the most part I've been sticking to at least his payment plan. To keep to my goal of being debt free by November 1st I need to pay £551.28 off a month which is just impossible considering we have nothing left to sell, even with budget adjustments. So I'm aiming for January 1st, which is £315.01 a month. And slightly more plausible.
Been having a big clear out these last two months though. I deleted my facebook and twitter, along with certain apps for my phone so I can only access them when I'm on a "proper" computer. I've started reading more, leaving my phone at home when we go out, having "phones off" nights with OH. Technology is awesome and I love it, but I'm going to get a hunched back before my time if I keep looking at my phone constantly.
We also go on holiday, 2 weeks on Friday to Vegas (no, no wedding bells!) which OH has paid for an fully funded. His wages are finally turning out the way he was promised so the first pay pack he put into savings, and this months he wanted something more fun with. And I won't complain!0 -
 Cinny
Nice to 'see' you back on here.
I'm not sure how I'd go deleting my facebook account as it links me to people in Oz and I'm a nosy peron lol but the games suck me in and it's such a waste of time. Twitter I need so that I can rant about things I don't want everyone to see but I maybe do that once or twice a month lol.
Your plans sound doable as always and as long as you keep your on eyes on that date I know you'll have no problems actually being debt free by then.
Enjoy Vegas and I'm guessing some quality time with your sister and brother in law while you're over there.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D
