This is the cold hearted one that comes on a forum to express concern?
I'm assuming they work in HR and this is part of their job.
I doubt it is just a spreadsheet error, likely that the manager is a plank or the person is hard to work with.

This is a wind up surely. So this silly organisation might come crashing to the ground due to a simply typo and has no way to double check for these kind of mistakes. And on the other hand you have person B who seems to have done everything wrong except take a dump on the desk of the boss and they are finally getting the boot.0

I remember I got sacked at Christmas one year, I didn't have a clue it was coming, it was the Friday we got our Xmas holidays, everyone was excited about getting off work for 2 weeks and going to the Christmas party after we finished work, about 10 mins before quitting time I got called to the office and told due to lack of orders in the New Year my services was no longer required but I was still welcome to attend the Xmas party, needless to say I was no longer in the mood.
They phoned me again the end of January looking me back but out of twistedness I didn't go back to them.0
