  • Are any of the stations on the new Borders Line included? The system failed to recognise Galashiels.
    Falkirk Bairn
  • Very poor. I put in my journey (Ipswich to Stansted Airport) and was offered 4 options, the first being £30.30, but when I clicked on it the price shown was £43.10! The other three options said there were no savings. Yet, I discovered (by myself) if I went via Cambridge the price reduced to £23.20 and was quicker!! Useless tool.

Galashiels is on now. I hope you managed to grab the £1 fares from Neilston/East Kilbride to Galashiels/Tweedbank, which are valid for your journey from Falkirk?

  • Tickety Split - booking tickets for more than one person?

I'm looking to book tickets for 3 people (Edinburgh to Manchester), but Tickety Split only seems to let you book for one person. Is that right? (or am I doing something wrong?)

    Many thanks, Susan

Have you tried using https://www.splitticketing.com/ as that allows you to input more than 1 passenger in (and also checks return tickets if required)

The MSE is very limited in what it can do, and with trips where more than one split gives the best option it gets confused and only does one split
  • Hi Martin,
Sadly, it didn't work for me.
I checked the price for two returns (Barnstaple to Gatwick) on Raileasy and was quoted £169.something. The suggested full price for one single on Tickety Split was £80.odd and although the tool reduced this to £55,25 (including charges) the total for two, there and back, is £221.00 - over £50 more than two standard returns :-(

I'd like to test this. What are your journey requirements?
  • Hello,

Can you book tickets for more than one person at a time on TicketySplit?

I'm wanting to book a journey from Edinburgh to Manchester for 3 people, but the system seems to default to 1 Adult only, and you can't then change it to 3.

Can you only by one split ticket at a time?

    Many thanks,

    Susan

You can book more than one although it is a bit messy.

When you've chosen for one person, just click Add Another Journey and enter a couple of times, no typing needed, and you have tickets for two people. do that again and and there's your three. Then go through the payment process just the once.

Was the answer you got when you first asked this question not suitable?
You appear not to have even noticed that response.

Trainsplit.com, will do all these things. But if you're looking at Advance fares for a through train, a through fare is likely to be cheaper on this route.
