So Angry with Police

Im spitting feathers today... This story goes back about 6 weeks when my husband who has cycled to work for the last 6 years was turning right at traffic lights when an imbecile pulled up behind him.. When the lights turned green he practically knocked my husband off his bike.. When my husband got around the corner he shouted at the van.. The van then stopped and the man started pushing my husband to the point of nearly knocking him over.. An argument ensued but the man got in his van and drove off.. My husband never touched him he was No1 nearly knocked off his bike (he wasn't doing anything wrong) and 2 assaulted...
My husband called the Police and was asked to attend that evening (had my husband decided to make this entire story up there would certainly be no need to call the Police and secondly my husband has no fear in breaking this mans neck but as he is not English I have always told him never to hit anyone and the Police will deal with it.. There was also a taxi parked opposite that witnessed everything.. My husband photographed the van driving off and the taxi..
He went up to the Police station.. Gave his report and the Police were more worried about stating that if my husband lied he could end up in Prison bla bla bla.. Never heard such a load of rubbish.. The policewoman said she would call in the man and contact the taxi driver but it might be difficult to find him (oh yes because the number plate isn't enough !!).
The following day the same man came behind my husband again on his bike (they must start work at the same time) and again verbally abused him... We notified the police again of this..
3 weeks later the Police phoned to confirm nothing was being done as there was no witnesses and the stories were not the same... Asked about the taxi driver they apparently spoke to him and he said he didn't see the argument (well done for being an upstanding member of the public).... She then went on to say to stay away from this man and she had told him the same thing.. As you can imagine my husband was fuming and so was I but I did calm him down eventually.. Had this have been a woman would it have had the same outcome .... Unlikely... and my husband not being English.... yep another reason to be spoken to in a patronising manner and I had no qualms in telling the policewoman so.
Roll on today my husband was unloading a van outside of his work with a colleague when said waste of space drove past him AGAIN shouting abuse from the window.. Making pathetic hand and mouth signs (the useless waste of life didn't stop though like the big man he is ) .. My husband's colleague turned to him and said he couldn't believe what an absolute idiot and seeing as this is the 2nd time after the original incident amounts to harassment !!! I have contacted the police myself today and asked for the Policewoman to contact me again.. How can I proceed with this.. My problem is if it isn't sorted out in the proper channels my husband will deal with it.. Its disgusting that people who are trying to go about their day without doing anything to anyone have to deal with this !!!! What can I do... I will definitely make a formal complaint about this if not dealt with now.. You hear so many stories that people contacted the Police regarding issues and nothing was done and then the outcome was terrible..
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!

I have no confidence in the police at all, BUT did you really need to involve them in all of this.
How do you expect them to sort this?
Also, contacting them again when the van man called your husband a few names and flipped him the bird....... really? just tell him to be the bigger man and ignore it.
It all seems a bit like it belongs in the school yard tbh0 -

Totally. The guy's a kn0b, so just ignore him. It's not a police matter imo.0 -

It IS disgusting that people deal with such rubbish in daily life so you have my sympathy there but if your husband plans to 'deal with it' he becomes PART OF THE PROBLEM.
I don't understand the nationality issue. Are you suggesting racism?0 -
Agree with the above. You say practically knocked him off his bike, but he didn't, that would've been a different story. This guy sounds a complete !!!!!! and not worth your time. I think by now I would be having a laugh at his expense as he clearly thinks your husband is worth wasting his time on. I'd find that quite the compliment.0

Exactly.. I am most definitely saying this is racism.. THe policewoman spoke to him like he was an idiot !!! Why did he have to veer into the curb because this idiot cant drive?? Is it acceptable that he is spoken to in this manner?? Absloutely not.. and ok he had become the bigger man and got over it but that was 6 weeks ago?? So he just has to accept this harassment?? Are you serious?? We have two small children?? If he had knocked him off his bike and killed him that would have been ok would it?? I don't think this is acceptable at all.. But if my husband had have punched him when he was being pushed?? That would have not been ok... GOD WHAT IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO !!!!!!!0

There are lots of similar cycling incidents on youtube, wherein the cyclists have reported the driver to Roadsafe if it's in London, or non-emergency number. Most times this ends up with nothing due to lack of evidence, but a few times they get sent to court for careless/without due care etc.
Unfortunately, this is the state of cycling in the UK. I highly doubt it has anything to do with your husband's background, as he is certainly not the first and will not be the last cyclist to be talked to like this by the Police, regardless of race, and certainly not the first nor last where the Police do not prosecute the driver.0 -
But it's all what if's. If any of the serious things you list happened then yes, it's a police matter. But until then it's just speculation based on one shouty idiot.0
-
So what we are trying to say is our country is now ruled by shouty bullying harassing threatening (because he did get out of his van and push my husband) imbeciles !!! At no part of this was my husband at fault.. He was dressed correctly and he had priority....
Then again today there was a witness..... This is harassment now !!! I don't go out of my way to search out the same person and verbally abuse them?? For too long people have had to let things go in this country and look where we are??
This is what my children are growing up into.. Bravo !!!! Well done the useless Police, thugs, junkies, thieves.. WELL DONE !!!0 -
Maybe calm down.0

so what actually happened?
Your other half is waiting to turn right and rode into the curb?
What did the driver do that was so wrong?
Why did your OH feel the need to shout at the driver first? sounds like he just made the situation a lot worse.0
