PLEASE HELP!! PPC for No Permit

Hi All,
Please bear with me I am new to this.
I have recently received a Private Parking Charge for not displaying a permit in a housing car park.
I was literally parked for 10 mins whilst I unloaded an Xmas tree into a friends house. The sign did say no Parking or Waiting, but as I was only loading I thought it would be ok.
Ive been on here for days now reading all threads and advice and am not sure if I have any grounds for appeal. I really do not want to pay this for 10 minutes of loading and wandered if anyone could give me advice on what way to go forward with this.
I was not parked in anyones bay and I was not obstructing anything.
Based on advice here, I was going to ignore the ticket and wait until I receive the NTK before appealing. But the PPC will most probably not accept my case so I will have to go through POPLA. Do you think I have any grounds for appeal?
Thanks

No - don't ignore - that hasn't been the advice for YONKS !Appeal - saying that you were unloading. You should get a POPLA code to allow you to appeal and get it cancelled."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0

No I didnt mean totally ignore. The advice in the newbie thread suggests ignoring the Notice to Driver and waiting for the Notice to Keeper to arrive.
This is what I plan to do, but wanted advice on what angle to take when submitting my POPLA appeal.
Thanks0 -
Read the POPLA thread which will help you understand what wins at POPLA

Meantime, yes wait for the NtK, then appeal as the registered keeper. All explained in the Newbies sticky.0 -
Yes saw all those, Thank you
Is there anywhere on her that has good appeal template letters. I can see what grounds seem to be working for the POPLA appeals but not sure how I should go about wording my letter. I dont want to to be too complicated like some templates I have seen0 -
well you've done some initial reading and research which is more than most new posters so well done on that.
Have a re-read of Coupon-Mad's NEWBIES sticky https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
You are right to wait for NtK so do nothing except research here until then.
Once you have that appeal to the PPC anyway you like - some like a strong first letter which shows you know what you are talking about mentioning some of the winning POPLA points, others just a simple 'I am the registered keeper and appeal this charge, send me a POPLA code' (or a slightly enlarged version of)
It's unlikely you'll get a cancellation from your initial letter so what you are after is the POPLA code - and, by the time you get it, you will know exactly what to put in it by reading the threads here.0 -
''Is there anywhere on her that has good appeal template letters''
LOL! There are a DOZEN 'first appeal' example links in the NEWBIES thread you've already read! You certainly DO NOT want to be writing about the permit (or lack of).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes but most are for shop car parks etc, mine is for a private car park.
I think the only points that I could raise are:
1. No valid contract with landowner, and
2. The amount demanded is not a Genuine Pre-estimate of loss,
Do you think I could win a Popla appeal with these alone as I think the signs were BPA compliant and there was plenty of them.
I apologise for my confusion, there's so many different views on here and I am not entirely sure where I stand, I would much rather pay £60 than £100 if Popla refuse my appeal. I know many advise that even if they do reject it I don't have to pay but what if I am taken to court? won't I have to pay even more then. And will a judge side with me, imagine going through all that and the PPC wins!0 -

Wow, you seem to be in a state of panic and racing too far ahead of yourself on this. You need to STOP! A cool head is the way to deal with it. You're in the right place and we will help you.
Do nothing until you get that NtK - between 29 and 56 days after your windscreen ticket.
The soft appeal to the PPC doesn't have to be anything special; its purpose is to hook a POPLA code.
Pretty much regardless of what it says on signs (even BPA-compliant ones, and I bet yours aren't!), you will WIN at POPLA if you stick to the timetable AND follow our advice.
Apart from a scene-setting couple of lines of introduction to your POPLA appeal, the rest will more or less follow the same pattern and content as everyone else's who have been advised by us - and with whom we have a 100% record of success, and that's hundreds of cases over the past 9 months or so.
You can start doing some familiarisation reading via the NEWBIES READ THIS FIRST sticky, especially the 'How to win at POPLA' section. This won't be going anywhere near court, so please don't even think about that.
So, clear, cool head, plenty of reading/research, keep in touch with us as things progress, let us see your draft POPLA appeal, win at POPLA, get on with the rest of your life - SIMPLES eh?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
