  • Hope your horse feels better soon.

I would love to be able to own a horse or any pet for that matter but I know I would not be able to give them the time, attention and care that they require and deserve!
  • Hiya Lam, found you :j I have subscribed and will be following you. Lets get this wrapped up this year.

I love your 20p idea, I tried saving £2 coins but there a big miss when You haven't got much in ya purse. I have one of those jars that counts your money as you save, so going to use that.

Thank you - they are in my blood unfortunately - I have tried twice to give up and somehow they find me again :):D

I have given up everything else over the past few years as some of my original debt was because of a poorly uninsured horse and that debt snowballed in all other areas of my life. I am lucky I have managed to hang on to them but I have cut back and learned to be thrifty in their lives too. They are very time consuming, a huge responsibility, very expensive but also very rewarding when it all goes right :D

Hiya - we actually have one of those jars somewhere too but I never have enough in it lol.

now I have a poundland tin for my sealed pot challenge and a little plastic purse that I collect 20ps in. the NatWest in town has a deposit machine where you can just tip the coins in - its great. Embarrassingly though yesterday - it rejected one of my 20p lol - must have been dodgy :o luckily no bells or alarms go off - it just adjusts the total you are depositing :)

Another cold wet windy day - just got in from seeing to neddies - leg is doing much better - I feel so relieved so hopefully no more cost.

Back to work on Thursday so using these last 2 days to 'play' on the computer - going to do surveys for half an hour and my usual swags.

Tidied out my handbag - was a mess over the xmas period and have chucked all the shrapnel into my tin for the SPC.

Off to read some diaries for more inspiration and motivation.

Enjoy and stay safe whatever you are all doing tonight x
  • Hi there!!

Just thought I would pop in on your diary and say hi! 2014 is also (hopefully) my last year in debt so the final furlong for me too!! Been on my DMP 2 years in March and owed quite a bit more than you to start (28k) but you are doing a lot of the same things as me, spreadsheets, e-bay, swagbucks etc. I have a £2 coin jar to save for xmas and a 50p jar which I'm not going to open until I'm almost at the end of my debt and I'm going to use it towards paying off that final chunk!
Hope you do really well and achieve your target! I'm feeling pretty positive about 2014! Just hope life doesn't throw too many things at me that require spending money! Lol.
    Good luck

    Hi GMood (love it lol)

Good luck to you too - I had £33k initially - I feel sick even now when I think about it. At first it seems you are not getting anywhere doesn't it? But I have learnt that every penny truly does make a difference.

Heres to 2014 for us

    Hi LAM :)

Just popped over to subscribe. You have done so well with your debt clearing!! I'm sure you will be debt free in 2014.

    Happy New Year

  • Oh Yeah Lam2011!! 33k! I must be cracking up! I thought I'd read 14!!! Wow you are doing incredibly well too!! I have been in debt since I was 18! I'm 38 now. It was just a vicious circle and it becomes a way of life. I think the hardest part of getting debt free is "really"realising what a mess you are in and making that decision once and for all to sort it out / come clean about it etc. Yeah it's not all plain sailing but as you've probably found out it can actually be quite fun. Like you say every penny counts! It's a good challenge! cheers to you too and lets hope this time next year we are both celebrating being debt free at last! :T
