Oh definitely - I am so scared of going back to my old ways and I have noticed OH's credit card and overdraft sneaking higher and higher so want to help him get them under control.

I want to be able to save and not waste money. I also want to wait and see you and my other DF friends achieve their goals :)

That is such a lovely thing for you to say :) you're very kind.

So what will you be saving for? More emergency funding first or something specific?

I'm sure you won't go back to your old ways - you will have this diary to remind you how hard you've worked. :)

Nothing specific - just to save. I joined these forums in desperation just after Christmas 2010.

It was when I stumbled across these forums and for the first time properly understood the extent of my credit card debt (then about 5 cards all maxed out) and worked out that I would never actually be DF at the rate I was paying them off due to interest that reality struck that I had to do something.

My OH knew I had debt - one of the credit cards had paid for colic surgery on a previous horse that I had that had no insurance - the rest was unexplainable really - and he didn't really know the true amount. He has always helped here and there and knows I am nearly DF.

Gosh rambled on here a bit - so yes - worried I might rush off and buy a horse lorry or a holiday or something else that will not hold value so want to be very careful - I am heading quite quickly to 50 now and have nothing in the pot. I do own a house that has tenants in and over equity so would like to overpay a bit on that but mostly keep up my money saving ways. :D
