2014 - The Final Furlong

to be honest GMOOD - I haven't done much at all this week on Swags. If you can search a lot you can get extra points but being at various sites this week and long hours I haven't reached target once. Never mind the points will wait till I am ready.
I submitted my meter readings to EON to discover we are STILL in credit! we were in credit going into winter and I asked for refund or lower direct debit - they dropped the DD slightly and said see how winter goes. Well still over £100 in credit. They just don't listen. I have phoned and tried to explain that the original DD was based on both DS's being at home as well as a parent and now its just OH and myself and we have a log burning stove, have changed all bulbs to energy saving and both work full time! I will wait till end of Feb and if still in credit I am going to push for a refund!
Car insurance renewal has come through so off to see if can get a cheaper quote - will see if any deals through Top Cash Back or the like. It just seems much higher than I would expect.
Still need to do my adpoints but have at least done the washing, horses and been to Aldi - came in on budget this week as tried to buy more healthier stuff. I am sure its cheaper to eat unhealthy processed stuff!
My weight is still stuck on the same but to be fair I have done nothing extra to try shift it.
Just need to get January out the way and then life should settle into more of a routine0 -
So payday (or payout day as I like to call it) has come and nearly gone
I have done my final adjustment (for now) on the spreadsheet and moved my budgeted money to various online pots and managed to transfer £150 to loan (thanks to some extra with the overtime)
Will see now how things go week to week as to how much more I can transfer.
£60 owed for self employed work - will give till end of week before chasing.
£2.37 from TCB :rotfl:and I nearly have £5 in my 20p purse. I should get another £5 this week off Swagbucks although just lacking any motivation for surveys at the moment. Brain feels a bit overloaded even to think about answering simple questions.0 -
I love paying everything off on payday! It feels like another step toward the light at the end of the tunnel. It's just afterwards I feel a bit down when I think that I have to wait another month before I can do it again!
I like your way of saving up in £5's though. I think I may have a go at that. It will give me something smaller to aim for throughout the month.
It's my pay day on friday and its taking forever to arrive!!! Groan!!! But at least I got my pay slip today so I can mess around with my budget a bit in the meantime now I know what I'm getting. :rotfl:
GMOOD xxLBM 01/03/12 Debt £[STRIKE]27924[/STRIKE]
now £0 100% paid :j  :T0 -
thanks GMOOD - yes I like £5. I forgot on the 1st I will also get my £5 reward from my bank
Am having a slight panic attack as I wanted to pay an extra £200 off the loan in Feb and not sure where that will come from at the moment. I mean that on top of the £150 I have used from my salary. SO I need to see if anything to ebay ....0 -

Hi LAM2011
Sorry, just spotted this.
Thought you might be interested in a facility on our website that gives customers more control over their Monthly Direct Debits. It's called the Direct Debit Manager.
This tool lets you change your monthly payments by up to 20 per cent, up or down, provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings. Or, up to 5 per cent up or down without readings.
It's ideal for customers, like yourself, whose circumstances have changed.
Before completing the change, we'll let you know how much we anticipate the account will be in debit/credit by the time of the annual review if the change is confirmed but usage doesn't alter accordingly.
To be honest, the advisor you spoke to should've taken your changed circumstances into consideration when they spoke to you. I'm sorry they didn't do this.
With our payment arrangements, we aim for accounts to have as near to a zero balance as possible by the time of the annual review. At this review, any credit over a fiver is automatically sent back to your bank.
Depending on when your review is, I'd expect there to be some credit on the account. This is to go towards covering your usage up to the review. Although, given your changed circumstances, maybe not as much as at the moment.
At the end of the day, it's your money. Provided the account is billed up to date to accurate meter readings, any credit at this point can be refunded. We can also review ongoing payments and reset accordingly unless, that is, you've already done this through the online tool above.
Hope this is of interest LAM2011. Let me know if you need anymore information as happy to help.

Good advice there from Malc, LAM. Perhaps call up again and get the £100 back that's half way to the target you've set yourself?

Oh WOW - thanks Malc
. I will go and check it out. I am not annoyed as such as we have been with EON a long time and I know I will get it back eventually also I was worried that it would be very cold over winter but we seemed to have managed and £90 a month for 2 of us is a bit steep especially as we are in credit. Thanks again for replying.

That's good you can get your overpayment back"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

I don't think I will get the repayment back till the review in May by the looks of things. I see the DD was dropped already to £55 a month but its saying that we are still over £200 in credit. I went on the DD change thing and its forecast what it thinks we will use and even suggested we up the DD to £57!! So I have just left it. Next proper bill due in Feb - will see what that comes out with and then perhaps try and call again.
Not much happening in money land at the moment. I may need to get more medication for little mare as she is still not 100% which is worrying
I have updated my signature in the meantime to what I will owe beg of Feb after my normal monthly DD taken off.
I have also realised that my horse insurance is due in March - been so busy overpaying the loan that I forgot about this so have started a mini emergency fund for thisI usually pay off the whole amount at one time but it seems to have dropped off my spreadsheet for March for some reason.
I have to work some overtime this weekend which I am grateful for as after Jan there probably wont be much available but I feel so tired and just keep thinking of the extra pennies
Hope you all have a nice weekend.0 -
no physical cash landing in bank accounts at the moment BUT I have worked a lot of overtime this weekend which will reflect in Febs pay packet. I may have this weekend off and then next week its back to the drawing board.
I know I have ebay stuff to sell just need to get on with listing it. I have my expenses claim form to submit too which is minimal but every little helps.
2 x 20ps were found in washing machine - OH claims they were his (But then said he was saving them for me - aaahhh) so I now have another £5 ready to bank0
