Having a cuppa and reading the thread back a few pages: great news from Valli and Natty.
Really sorry to hear about your DH Helen Jelly - I've been away and don't know all the details, but I'm sending healing wishes your way.
Must gulp the rest of this tea and try to put my kitchen back together again - everything has been moved to wipe the counters and needs to be put back again. 18 more small panes of window glass to clean...

Unbelievable!! Some of you may remember, back in June I finally managed to hand on a voluntary job I'd done for 10 years to another [STRIKE]mug[/STRIKE] volunteer. Well, I just had an email, which would have been my place to deal with when I was doing the job, from someone wanting to pick my brains for help with her dissertation, for goodness sake! Sorry, I have neither the time nor the energy, nor in fact any inclination to get involved, so I've forwarded it onto my replacement Regional Coordinator. (Bet that goes down like a lead balloon, but hey ho).
What I don't understand is why this person emailed me after all this time - I checked at the time I did the handover, and all the info on the organisation's website has been updated to the new RC's details, so I think she must've got the contact info ages ago - ie at least six months, and been putting off dealing with her dissertation til now.
Other than that, I've given Lizzie a good long walkies, and she's now curled up on her bed snoozing.:D She was very good out, and walked nicely with the mobility buggy.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Grr LW, some people
still, :T that you don't have to deal with it!
I'm a bit <confused smilie> that some people have "liked" a FB status about a card that DS made for his daddy. Teacher didn't warn me and its knocked me sideways a bit. Lord knows why I thought putting it on FB was a good idea. Might delete.
But. Littlies still want to eat whether I'm a gibbering mess or not...Bossymoo

It's been an odd week of many and varied total frustrations here that have thrown me a bit, and had me throwing wobblies. Every time I've tried to do things, they've turned out to be considerably more complicated than I'd anticipated, more costly and time-consuming and generally maddening. One of the things was OH's decisio to switch internet providers, but it turns out beetee can't get its corporate head around the fact that we have two landlines in the house, one of which was with them already. Between us we've had to make and/or take eleven calls about the switch and received an incomprehensible seven page email from beetee. Their incomepetence and subsequent add-on costs have esculated to such an extent that it's not much cheaper and I no longer believe they are capable of actually providing the service at all. In order to stop them making a total lash-up of the switch, they themselves told us to cancel the switch and start the process all over again 24 hours later. So we did the first bit of that this afternoon.
Virg!n have just phoned to offer me a better deal - £10 a month cheaper than I've been paying them, and a 50% increase in the speed. So, from a day which I decided I was going to do very little because I couldn't stand feeling so frustrated yet again, today has been a true MSE achievement day. How heartening is that!

Wrapped all four of OH's Christmas presents, washed up, swept bits of the kitchen floor, ran the DW - and not a lot else.Better is good enough.0 -

Ah sweetie I read it on facebook and cried for you all, I could find no words to comment. I was so surprised the teacher had written this for your little one and am amazed you wasn't warned. You are doing brilliantly and we are bursting with pride at your amazing coping skills, a wobble is absolutely to be expected xxxxThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Worried about my friend with BC, popped in to see her earlier and she is not at all good and just had a text to say she is in hospital for observations hope she improves soon.
Aga half wiped and kitchen tidied up from my wreath making apart from the floor which needs a sweep and a mop then I'm calling it a day as AF is making her presence know again. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I'm sure they will have liked it because it is adorable and sweet and sad and moving. I've not seen it but I'm sure the teacher was very moved by it too.
