When my son was 14, we had light hearted cuddles, but I have to admit I wouldn't have felt comfortable with him, at that age, climbing into bed with me for a cuddle!
Mind you, most teenagers, at 14, think their parents are the pits anyway, so it wouldn't have arisen

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

My Dad hugged me when I was 14 - and still does now, and I'm 35. I don't see anything remotely wrong with it. He also hugs my sisters, my mother, and my son....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Families are different. Some are closer than others when it comes to hugging. If your teenage children want to cuddle, and you're fine with it, who cares?
There was a TV program on Channel 4 a few years ago called The Family, who had a teenage son who was around 14, and he was always cuddling with his parents in bed.
As long as you're all fine with it, then there should be no problem. Tell your husband to grow up, rather than he suggesting your son does.
