I like the idea of the bright side of hoarding. Maybe we can get enough and make a book that hoarders could buy in bulk for a discount.

OMG!!!! As someone whose entire jewellery stash comprises of a constantly worn tongue bar and a wedding ring that seems huge!!! However, I think that as confessions go, its definitely not the worst I have heard!!littlegreenpeas wrote: »Just a thought, why do we share our financial situtation with people we don't know. You wouldn't stop someone in the street at say guess what I have a 98k morgage. lol It's strange when you think about it.
The joy of anonymity?!Considering how many people use this forum it does seem odd that we have very few people in real life that we talk to about our MF/DF quest.....I think that it's just easier to be honest about finances (and our failings with them!!) with people who don't judge, have been there themselves or simply have the empathy required to understand the motivations, triggers and the struggles that individuals have with expectations..... bit like an aa meeting really!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

When driving home from work I decided I was going to get myself in order. I am going to make a loaf of sandwiches and freeze them so I only need to take a bag out in the morning. Have some tinned fruit in the cupboard so will supplement the fresh stuff.
Then the following week will think of something else.

Hello All
This weekend I would just like to stay at home and chill/ get my head into January. Does anyone else feel a bit weird?
This morning was at Ald* doing the shopping and I am pleased to say it was only £42 the budget is £50. I went with my list and zipped along the isles but I now realise shopping with the OH is more expensive than doing it on my own. I did get him past the biscuits and cakes without a purchase which is a miracle.
This afternoon will be cooking and chilling. I need some spices for next weeks cooking but planning to use nectar points for this so they will be free.
Hubby bought a waterproof golf bag today which I had rung around and got a deal for him. Internet Sale Price was over £20 more expensive and we managed to picked it up from the local golf club. I know its not money saving but it was his Christmas money and the other one has split and fills with water.
Task for this afternoon, recycling my magazines or books to friends or my mum. We all seem to share so its a really good way of saving money. I buy my magazine through Mr T points or on living social using the tcb.
Happy Saturday

Hi All
Here are my jobs for today
1. Christmas decorations down and put into garage
2. Scan cds into computer and then decide what to do with them, mostly they are OH or they would have gone already.
3. Make sandwiches for the week and freeze.
4. Get some stuff on ebay.
5. Clean the house.
6. Get OH to put up pictures, failed last time.
7. Write birthday cards for the month.
8. Make a few payments on line. All budgeted for
This year we have decided that we are going to have a week in London instead of going abroad, there are lots of things we haven't done and I need to start planning for September. Hotel is already booked for a week and it was with a discount code and tcb. I fancy glass blowing has anyone been ?
OH said this morning that he would like a new bed this year so we need to take some money from the op each month:( to save up for one.
Trying really hard so that the credit card will be under 1k this month.
I pay professional fees this time of the year BOOOOO, normally I do this myself but I have asked my boss if the company will pay. Fingers crossed they will say yes and this will be over £200 better off, alternatively I will just claim the tax back from HMRC.
Happy Sunday everyone

london - if you travel by train there are some good 2 for 1 offers available, see HERE
If you have a stash of t*sco clubcard vouchers, may be worth looking to see if you can exchange them for admission, they normally offer pretty good value for money.
Something we did and loved which is a bit off the tourist path is the museum of brands and advertising, fab if you're into the retro scene.
Something still on our to do list.. apparently if you contact your MP in good time you can get into Westminster for free for a nose around. I *think* this also allows you access to Big Ben that is otherwise unavailable.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Thanks Pd. I didn't realise you could get into Big Ben as well, I am going tot contact my local MP for a free tour. Thanks that's a super tip.:D
:D. I was really tempted by the afternoon tea option but at £50 for 2 its a bit steep for sandwiches and a scone.
The Brand museum also looks cool and has gone on the list.
Planning to book 1st class train tickets 12 weeks in advance for the cheapest deal. Forgotten about 241 THANKS
Will use my Tas**card for meals or pre bought deals to keep costs down.
Fancy Afternoon Tea somewhere flashy, so will check out group** or living soc for discounts. Update just found I can use my cc vouchers for this
Thanks again

Day 14 of non essential shopping challenge, nothing to report as I am still on the waggon.
Work have agreed to pay the professional fees so £250 better off to go in the OP pot.
Leftovers for lunch and a sandwich.
Leek soup for tea after the gym.
Sorry not very exciting today.
Does anyone know how to get discount in a beefeater ? Friend has picked it for a group dinner on Saturday.

Try registering on the Beefeater site. I went to one for a meal with a friend a few months ago and they do a loyalty card. Once you have that you get points - and - offers. So worth exploring. Pop into one, pick up the card, register it and see what happens?
I know friend's birthday meal had 50%off for all of us and she had enough points for free drinks too!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0
