Sounds like Ryanair! Flew them 4 yrs ago and almost missed my fight because my friends said thats their policy. Ended up at an internet cafe. With Ryanair you pretty much get what you pay for...

Another alternative is you could have opened your eyes and seen the warnings all over their website and the subsequent emails - no one to blame but yourself!

You pay for a basic flight. You should probably pay your opticians a bit more rather than jetting off - they need to work on your prescription :)
  • I'm a bit shocked at the number of people telling off the op. Its a very easy mistake to make.

If you never learnt to read and can't deal with email communication, yes it is.
For the other 99.9% of the population it works fine.

Use ryanair a lot, and have never had any problems with them, but then again i know how to read what the rules are, and what's more, actually abide by them:)

Seems almost like an alien concept to some people though :rotfl

I'm flying home with easyjet today.

I checked in as soon as they emailed me to say check in was open I downloaded the boarding pass to my phone.

This morning I have double checked the bag drop time twice. I plan to leave my mums with plenty of time to get bag dropped off and allowed double the amount of time I need to get through security (it's a very tiny airport and normally only 2 flights at any one time so security is a breeze).

I have checked the local traffic reports and will do again soon to check for any problems so I can adjust my times accordingly.

Before I flew up to my mums in December I printed off all my flight details and put them in my hand luggage. I also sent a duplicate of the email they sent me to my mum and my OH so if I accidentally lose it I have backups.

Some of this maybe over the top but I like to cover myself when ever I travel. I have also followed this same process when flying with Ryanair it's not difficult to follow instructions.

What happened to people taking responsibility for their own actions. Ryanair warn you enough times about your passes. Yes the fee maybe steep but if you do as asked then what's the problem

I like ryan air as I got a return to dublin for two people for 4p about 5 years ago.

The flight was over in 50 minutes. The flight was fine, nothing special. I had worse bus journry in rush hour than this.

So thank you ryan air for giving a trip to dublin that I would not have afforded if I was using BA from heathrow. I may have got some food on a flight with BA but I can manage 50 minutes without eating
  • So much negativity, we all make mistakes people! I'd agree with nomoneytoday, try and find an internet terminal at the airport and print your boarding card there. There's nothing you can do to reclaim the cost now, as the charges are in Ryanair's T&C's. Many other airlines, including Ryanair's rival easyJet, now have mobile boarding passes. As an example, easyJet have an app and once you've booked your flight, can get your boarding pass downloaded onto your app. Just show it at check-in and when you get on the plane and you're sorted :)

May I point out that just because something is in a companies T&C's doesn't make it legal, if challenged in a court of law or the correct authority, they can be deemed excessive and over ruled. I think this would apply if anyone could be that bothered in this case with this company. They are charging nearly twice the original ticket price to print out a boarding card on a sheet of paper , if that isn't extortion I don't know what is ? Its hardly the last word in customer service is it !

If the price of the flight was say £700 would a trip£70 fee be extortion?

    No need to be rude.

If you feel Ryanair's charges are open to legal challenge then I would suggest that, rather than moaning about it, you take such a course of action.

Well your soley basing a legal challenge on ryan selling cheap tickets. If they cost more then your saying it would not be a issue, thus your penalising ryan air for being cheap.

I eagerly await your next insult.
