    Hi all

Well done everyone on your fab savings for january...really motivating to read how well people are doing, and in a long post-xmas month too.

I'm reporting £1859.06 which is a much better start than 2013s savings... mainly cos we're more sorted on no.1 son's uni costs so they're not all hitting us at once. However no.2 son has various auditions coming up for drama schools, so lots of fees and travel expenses coming up in feb.

    Happy saving everyone.
    And CONGRATS CYDNEY!

  • Hi everyone, well it's the favourite time of the month Payday :j
I managed to save £426.15 which is under my monthly target of £500 but I am reigning in the spending this month!
  • Declaring £299 savings this month. As expected, not a great month but things should improve in February :).

  • Reporting £650 this month :j

Also just transferred £1500 from current account to ISA. I don't get any interest in current account, and the ISA gives a little bit.

£190 this month, plus the promise of more to come tomorrow/Sunday so will have a good start to Feb's savings. I'll need to up the savings if I'm to get to NZ next Feb! Well done everyone who has managed to put away as much/more than planned, and well done for the effort of us not quite reaching the month's target, January can be far more expensive than planned for.

Final total for January is £2071.97 - managed to beat my £2k target for this month thanks to a late contribution from the taxman :)

After playing catch-up for most of 2013 it's nice to start 2014 ahead of the curve. February isn't going to be quite so good, but shouldn't be too bad either

Well done to all, some great first months in the challenge here - and congrats, cydney too :)

Had a cup of tea and finalized the budget for the month, so have dropped £1100 more in to savings to start off February - will hopefully make it to £1500ish by the end of the month :)

Fiddling around with my money this morning. Had some interest to add to savings and trying to work out how much money I can save for DGD. I'm set now on F&C's Children's investment plan so just picking funds at the moment. I feel so adult doing this...it's a grown up thing setting up funds for a child, but I'm not throwing out the converse and goth clothing just yet!

Hiya, hows everyone been doing? Cannot believe that we're already one month into this years challenge!!

Well this month, hasnt given me the best start to this challenge, but I did spend a fortune on some Oak furniture this month, instead of saving the money... but this furniture was very much needed and should last me a lifetime!

    So my January totals are:

    Standing order - £100
    Reg Saver 1 - £50
    Reg Saver 2 - £250

    Total - £400

It is better than nothing, and I'm hoping to make it up by the end of the year!

Good luck to everyone and keep on saving those pennys!! x
