£83 put into my Credit Union account this morning. That includes £16.62 worth of interest from savings accounts and some loose change we had saved up.
Not too bad a start to February's savings.0 -
Number 38 - Declaring January's total
I have managed to save £1,250 in January. I also booked, and paid for a week's holiday in Sharm El Shiekh in a few weeks time, so it could have been a greater total. I am still happy though, I have saved a bundle of money, but am also enjoying life!
I have a whole load of expenses due back to me shortly, so that should considerably boost my total for February.
Congratulations to Cydney on the birth of your new grandchild :j
Well done to everyone who is getting off their backsides and saving some money, whatever the amount! :TNo. 47 Save £12k in 2018: £ ( %)

I've got £1250 earmarked for January's savings just waiting for my FlexDirect account to open and then I can finally start earning interest!
I'm paid per calendar month so February should be OK but I'm a bit worried about March. I'll have to try and make up for it this month.0 -
Reporting £281.51 for Jan.
Feb will be higher because i'm still sorting my banking out and i'm finding it difficult working it all out with my new accounts just set up.(never had more than one before)
So really Feb will be part Jan as well because of the mix up and the fact my weekly wage for Jan (1 week) hasn't gone into my bank yet.0 -
Declaring 561.23 for January. That excludes new money that has gone into my investments, but it is easier to exclude that from savings!Save £12k in 2014 Member 81 £1930.23/£50000

I won't be saving anything now for the next three months after deciding yesterday that I am going to pay off a £900 debt I have with Barclays early with money that I would have otherwise put into savings. I had the loan set up over the maximum payment period of 4 years but was planning on paying it off over 2 years by paying off extra amounts in addition to the minimum monthly payment. But then I found out yesterday that for every £25 minimum payment I make £10 of that is interest  The proportion of interest paid on the loan repayments would have gone down over time but still... So I think I can easily pay this off over the next 2-3 months. I also managed to pay off a £900 balance I had with Next this month after our washing machine broke down and deciding to get a washer dryer to replace. I made another horrible discovery yesterday when I found out that I got charged £30 interest over a 2 month period  I will also be paying off the final instalment of my eye loan in a few days time. So two loans down, one to go and then thats it, no more loans and serious money saving. This board has really inspired me, I only wish that I had been a bit more careful with my money earlier in life. I can only imagine what I could have had saved now if I hadn't been so careless. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though isn't it.Save £3000 in 2014 - £4290/£3000 :j

Conservatively. I would have had approx £135,000 and £435,000:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I am horrified and can't believe how much money I must have squandered, even allowing for years where money was tight with a big new mortgage. Too late to be able to do anything about it now, except to hope for a big premium bond win (I've made a start, I won £25 last month:rotfl:)
So all you good people with more working years ahead of you; keep saving and don't be like me!!
I'm 21 and I've been in full time education most of my life, but I'm starting to put some money aside and this is really inspirational... Really puts into perspective how much I could save without having to make huge sacrifices if I start now. Thank you for sharingSave 12k in 2014: n. 104, goal £4k, achieved £4000

January Figure (Total) - £0
£600 saved today so that's me off the mark. Not bad considering I've set aside some cash for one of my holidays. Have some pound coins in the tin to help boost my Feb figure towards the end of the month. Hoping for March to be even better!
Slow start... Still determined!

Happy February
.
Determined it will be more £productive than Jan. Started well by selling some bits and pieces for £20, buyer delighted and didn't even try to make an offer. So more space, less clutter, beginning of Feb fund, a win win situation. Baby steps0
