I am yet again late for submitting my previous months efforts! I managed £963.41 in October (form submitted Slowlyfading).

I would also like to say a big thanks to slowlyfading for running this thread and keeping the spread sheet up to date. I hope you feel you have the energy to run it again in 2015!

Well done everyone for passing the £1,000,000 mark!

Everyone is so good :) this challenge is definitely a team challenge!

I'm preparing the 2015 spreadsheet ready to go live in December, so watch out for that :)

  • Year end in my work so looking forward to a healthy dividend. Previous years this has went straight to debts, this year I'm debt free and will be saving 100% of it. Happy days :)

I know I joined quite late in the year but its great to have somewhere to 'report' to as I felt a bit lost once I became DF.

Thanks SF for running the challenge and updating lists - I have finally got the hang of filling it in lol.

This is the first Christmas in nearly 10 years that I am DF, have bought all my Christmas presents and have some savings in the bank.

Love reading all your goals and achievements so well done everyone on the challenge.

:j Yay, well done everyone, and more thanks to SF for all your work for this group! :)

I've just submitted my November update of £250 early as I've got enough stashed in my side account to use for bits like christmas present spends (which started last week). This update takes me £300 over my already increased 2014 target (and £700 over my original target) so I'm pretty pleased with my progress this year. Next year's challenge should see me reach my personal goal of £10k; I intend to continue saving beyond that but I specifically wanted to account for and replenish the £5.5k inheritance money I'd spent on buying a new (2nd hand) car after dad passed away.

Good luck to everyone else for the remainder of this years challenge! x

Congrats to everyone for reaching the million mark!

I've been slacking (again) but have updated the last couple of months now.. I've put aside £600 this month but if I'm good with the money I've put aside for Christmas presents might be able to save a little more. I'm currently at 12.9k (most, but not all saved this year) including what I've put by so far this month, I won't update the spreadsheet for Nov until I get to Decembers pay in case I dip into it. I only have one more pay day this year so I'll probably fall slightly short of 12k, but I'm proud of myself none the less.
    Finally bought a home

  • Ok Just added Sept, Oct and Nov. Dad managed to get down to the bank and transfer some money to my account so I could put back into my savings as I closed one to pay for household bills and vet bills. His health still not stable (or what you can call stable with terminal cancer) and have been taking him to his hospital appointments for the past couple of months to run tests, no answers yet. Got 3 hospital visits this week alone then next week to get results.

Sept £500, Oct £500 and Nov £504.66 this is to allow adjustment of money back into savings. Total is £3904.66 out of £5000. However Nov may increase as I can now pay the household bills from dads bank account now so won't have to find money from my accounts and remaining cat doesn't need a special food diet so cat food bill has dramatically been reduced to a quarter of what I used to spend.

At the moment it looks like I'm shy of £1095.34 of my total, which doesn't seem that much compared to a few months ago.

@slowlyfading, I would love to save for 2015, again for £5000.
