To date I have managed 3260 so a little behind, but I have bought solar panels this spring which long-term will make and save me quite a lot during my retirement. I am due a good bonus later this month but one way or another will have an expensive June. I need to get the exterior paintwork on my house done and the quote I have so far is 650 but I think to delay it is not particularly sensible - it will need doing before the winter so may as well get it done when the wood will be dry. Can't save it all!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Well, if tonight's saga isn't moneysaving, I don't know what is! Got home from a works night out with my DP only to find we'd both left our keys on the sofa
Went to the in-laws who only live up the road who had just purchased a half decent ladder earlier this week, brought it down the road, knocked our downstairs neighbour (my in-laws tenants) who kindly let us use their back yard to climb up to our roof terrace, and then onto our bathroom roof, to try prise open the spare room window which thankfully hadn't been fixed by the builder last week when we'd asked him to take a look at it! At 5' 2" I wasn't tall enough to do any more than touch the window never mind prise it open, so our very tall neighbour then had to climb up, successfully prise open the window, and then boost me into it to open the front door!

Congratulations to everyone for doing so well. I was able to save £2000 this month. I have to pay some extra bills at the end of May which has hampered my progress a little. I will redouble my efforts to get close to my target!!I'm trying to remember to pay my future self first!0

I've now exceeded my target! I've never had this much money saved before and only wish I had started sooner. Me and my partner have something very important that we are saving up for later this year so we are raising our target from £3k in 2014 to £9k (total savings) by end of August/ start of September. However we have managed to reduce our outgoings significantly and generate more income through better jobs so I know that as long as we are strict with ourselves then we will be able to achieve it.Save £3000 in 2014 - £4290/£3000 :j

Last of the big payments has gone out for May, although there are a few small stragglers to go so not quite done yet. But the good news is that i've stashed away just under £2k so far this month (hope to break £2k again before the month is out) and that takes me past the £10k mark for the year - £10,198.44 to be precise
Next month will be another good one and should take me past £12k, although not quite sure what the second half of the year will look like - i've started saving to eventually replace my car (as 'planned expenditure' I don't count it towards the challenge) so eligible savings may be a bit thin on the ground in autumn. But really pleased with the progress i'm making so far0 -
Oh sorry to hear that tara
You're still doing blimmin well though- even on your own!
Had a good think about it and Ive decided to use a solicitor but only for writing a statement. If she gives me a incredible statement then I can do the court appearance on my own. My dad will support me so I wont be completely on my own this timeIt'll still be about £500 but I can cope with that compared to £2k just for the court appearance! Im thinking of changing my career...;) ££££
Thank you xxx

I'm at £4500, I think. I don't actually know properly as I can't remember my logins. So I'll update with the accurate figure sometime this week when the post comes.
Also I may have to withdraw completely as I may have no job from July which isn't great.0
