  • Really pleased that OH and I now have shiny new ISAs and we each have £2500 in them. It is being on this thread that has helped me put together and emergency fund and now allow me to start working towards longer term savings.

So a huge thanks to SF for running the thread.

Yep SF deserves a lot of credit for running this thread!! After paying for holidays, half a new wardrobe and other bits and bobs including work tools, I am hovering at £2k....although as I have said all along how income increases over the summer as weather depending work, my next pay on Friday looks to be biggest one of the year so far. Put in an invoice that should pay net £2k for the fortnight. So il hopefully soon get racing towards my target now!! Off today as had a very busy week working 12 hour days, will sit and watch the football!! Have a good weekend everyone!!

Hi all, £4749 saved/put aside for April. Managed an excellent month despite being on holiday for 2 weeks. Hoping the sun shines over the Bank Holiday too :)

£150 is my amount for April. So total so far is £924.95. Really chuffed with this as nearly 2 years ago I was this much in my overdraft whilst at uni :)

Everyone is doing so well! Big well done! :T

I'm declaring £1,080 for this month. I'm not sure how long that will stay in the savings, as if you remember my other half lost his job last month - and is still looking for a new one :( Thank you to everyone's kind words.

We have enough money to pay bills and savings this month and next - then the savings stops and we can barely scrape by with just my wages - so then we'll need to dig into the house deposit fund. I have everything crossed that it doesn't come to this. I know we are fortunate to have the savings account to fall back on, but I also know how hard I saved to get that and I really don't want to spend it.

Oh - and as my OH works in quite a niche industry it's looking almost certain that we will have to relocate and move house

Fingers x'd something comes up soon (even if relocation is the only way for this to happen). As you say you're lucky you do have savings to fall back on, not everyone is so fortunate, I know I'd have been stuffed if the same had happened to me as little as 2 years ago! :)

Saved another £1500 from a quarterly bonus. Brings our total to £4000 which is fantastic against a target of £5000 for the year!
