I'm so pleased to see that you guys have turned a corner. The first steps are (by far!) the most difficult. There is plenty of help and support available to you. I really hope that you have a good Christmas.

  • well done for telling her, i bet you feel an awfully big weight has lifted off your shoulders. Now you two can go on and face this together

    Merry Christmas
  • The result is wonderful but the nicest thing is the fact that the op was kind enough to inform us of his progress - which he did not have to!
  • Wonderful - so glad that you have told her and she has responded as well as possible. Wishing you all the best in your debt-free journey :)

  • If I were you, from now on I would show her every financial statement you receive, every single one.

She may get bored of looking at them, but if you open up and expose every financial transaction you have to scrutiny, she wont be able to accuse you of covering anything up.

You may expose yourself to questioning of course, but I dont see that as an issue in your case as you will be able to justify all of your expenditure.

I think of trust as something that you shouldnt ever ask for unless you have no choice. In this case, you dont have to ask for trust if you show her everything.
  • Sorry if my wording offended anyone it was meant as a metaphor.
Glad to see you told your wife I hope all works well
