I cant believe how many are on Ebay infact i'm really shocked i mean dont get me wrong if you have paid for the holiday then by all means sell it but to sell a freebie wen there are ppl on here with lil kiddies wanting to go well thats just utter greed. My opinion is if you cant go either cancel so someone else can go or offer it FREE on here some ppl make me mad and i'm normally so calm

    Hi all!

Just back off a weeks 'break' and wanted to share my experience with Pontins Prestatyn Sands with you! (especially if you was staying near my chalet & thought I was a miserable sh*t:D )

Me and my mate arrived on Friday (minus my mates family which was supposed to make up the family element) and was having a good crack regardless. Things changed the following day when my mate started to experience serious pain, totally out of the blue. I rushed off to reception to seek assistance, and it arrived within 5 minutes - followed by site manager and paramedic within 10, and I can't thank them enough for that. The paramedic(on-site), after running tests, concluded as his best guess it was cramp/spasms.

After 4 more hours of pain he was taken to hospital and diagnosed as having a 'hole in his stomach' which was operated on the following day (6" incision & 21 staples, ouch!)

I found out from the hospital that the earliest he could be released would be Thursday (and it was hence the post!). Herein lies a problem! I am a money saver and couldn't afford to pay the extra nights, also his family live miles away and really couldn't afford the travel/accom, also he was the driver and parked on site (I'm missing out alot here to keep it short)

So... I have no immediate cash to catch a train, nor would I leave my mate in a hospital in the Welsh hills & no money for a room in the Inn. There were also many other factors I won't bore you with!

The reason I am posting this is because Pontins really stepped up to the mark. After explaining my situation to them they extended my free stay by a further 3 nights and often enquired as to his health.

They basically saved the day, and could go on about in more detail, but the point is - just what the hell would I have done if it wasn't for thier understanding & commitment to helping my friend?

I am so grateful. Thats not half the story & I've just got home - I just wanted to praise those guys.

A compliment goes to HQ in the morning!:T

omg I know people are selling them on ebay but this woman is selling 2 and she had another one on there the other day - im sorry but that is just plain greedy and makes me

I took a look at this Ebay sellers previous auctions and she seems to have a good line in selling used/dirty underwear and socks. I also note she is in Birmingham probably not too far from me! I wonder if she would like to try and sell some of my socks as the wife steadfastly refuses to handle them!

Seriously I thought about creating a new identity on Ebay and registering a ridiculous bid and strangely not actually paying! But of course I could not condone such an action!

We went on one of these free holidays a few years ago. One of the Terms and Conditions of the free holiday then was that if you didn't go on it, you had to pay the full cost of it.
I don't know whether this offer has a similar condition attached, however, I thought that this was a good idea as it deterred people from becoming greedy and applying for holidays that they maybe didn't know whether they could use or from selling them (as they wouldn't be sure that they could sell them).
Pontins supply these holidays to fill empty chalets. The objective is to give people who genuinely want a holiday there to experience it free of charge not for greedy people to profit from it.
I do think the T&C relating to payment if you don't holiday is a good one, as then the holidays go to the people who know they can go to a certain place, on a certain date. It stops people just applying because it's free.
