As i said if ppl have rang up for these FREE holidays then they should go on them coz if they have gotten 2-3+ to sell then they are getting in the way of ppl who would really use one of these free holidays ppl with lil kiddies who wouldnt have normally been able to go away coz of costs etc. Its all about having a conscience and thinking about others.

Regarding Pontins supplying these freebies to fill empty chalets.....yes and to fill their coropate pockets full of the money you'll spend on their sites while you're there!! Do you really beleive that these chalets would be fully occupied if they hadnt offered these hilidays for free?? Better to give away and reapt profit on site than to lie empty with nobody spending! As for having to pay for the holiday if your unable to go, yeah why not, after all we're all on here to "rob from the poor and give to the rich" after all!!!
Smallminded, capatalist attitudes like this belong in the boardrooms of the corporate giants that this forum is aimed at challenging not on a thread designed to give all an equal opportunity to have a well earned break from the struggle and worry of everyday life!!

Where did I say that genuine peoply didn't deserve a well earned break, I didn't. So please judge people on what they have stated, not what they have not.
I am a true socialist, that is why I believe that it is wrong that people should profit from selling these holidays on. They have applied for something that they didn't really want or need, when the holiday could have gone to someone who genuinely needed it.
In my opinion this is capitalistic greed, but if you think that it is o.k. to deprive a genuine applicant in order for others to make money then I think that you need to look to your own values as to who is the capitalist, or do you only think capitalistic values only refer to large corporations?
Your reply is so far from the truth that i'm beginning to wonder if you have quoted my post by mistake!! Earlier in this thread i completely condemn anyone choosing to profit from this offer on ebay so where exactly do you get the opinion that i think this is ok from??! As for my values being brought into question...I am one of those "greedy" people who cannot go on the break i received and far from selling it on ebay, i have infact advertised it on here so someone less fortunate, who was unable to secure one themselves, can use it.
I have infact judged you on EXACTLY what you have stated whereas you have entered a post that bares absolutely no factual resembelance to anything i said!! Take a wee bit of your own advice and judge on wots stated not of fantasy.
By-the-way, your the first 'true socialist' that i have known of that would suggest financially intimidating people as an appropriate means of deterent...and of course profit!!
As an active member of Solidarity-Scotland's Socialist Movement, I certainly do not think capitalism refers only to corporate companies...on the contarary infact, as i think you have displayed a completely capitalistic mindset in your original post with regards to having to pay if you are unable to go, in that this again would only reinforce the great class devide, detering only those who could not possibly afford to do such.

lol Hubby and I won the darts comps, so won 2 free weekend hols but of course on the same dates! ( out of which we wangled the weekend in a club apt instead of 2 budget ones)
have just written about the hol on another thread. Chalet was grotty at prestatyn, floor minging. Good job we took old socks with us!
We also won 2 x £10 pontins vouchers each for winning.
yes pontns do these hols to fill chalets and get your money other ways, but we didnt spend a penny!
We stocked up at tesco on the way, didnt go for a drink at night, we'd bought cans from tesco. (This was break for the kids, and we have had a few hols this yr) kids got loads of free goes on air hockey etc, took our golf clubs and tennis racquets and played on the sports things.
Bought the kids some stuff out of 1 £10 voucher and swapped another with someone. Still have 2 to take back for the winners weekend.
Didnt have to buy any leccy cards. Got hot showers after swimming each day, only boiled required amount of water in kettle ( always do that at home too!) and only used cooker for minimum time needed and leccy lasted fine.
Took kids sweets etc with us from tesco. Our kids never ask for stuff anyway. They're used to going on lots of hols and us taking their stuff with them instead of spending a fortune there. It means they get several holidays a yr instead of one
So a great free weekend
Martin would be proud of us! lmao
Anyone going to the darts/snooker finals??I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
has Tony Blair decided to join here now he's got time on his hands??
lol
Please dont argue. I've always thought this forum miles better than Bobs with all the !!!!!ing and badly moderated sections.
Oh btw A thought for people who think you should have to pay if you dont go. What if someone falls ill and you can't go??? Tis a bit unfair then is it not?I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. Exactly the reason i cant go as my oh had a heartattack a few months back and has had to take his 'puffer' a little to much for comfort this past week...due to stress at work apparently and with 2 wee ones and no hope of another holiday due to our (very!) limited finances i am gutted at not being able to take advantage of this offer but not being a clairvoyant, at the time of booking i was unaware that my oh would be unwell and i can assure you, if there was the threat of havin to pay if unable to go i for one would not have applied.
by-the-way as i have posted 2 or 3 times before if you can use this break please contact me asap as it is for Prestatyn 9-13th july.Ritetidy x0 -
if it'd been a weekend I'd have taken you up on that! lol
And I dont know, maybe the offer wouldn't be on if everyone did as I have done, but I spose some people dont get chance to get away and use it as their main holiday so spend cash. I gave up work when I had my kids to stay at home with them, and hubby earns very little and we have a mortgage and bills, and I have always been very financially astute. I do not want to get into any debt and i prefer to spend money on having hols ( which I book early and get cheaply online) rather than spending it on stuff while there I can get for a fraction of the price elsewhere. We always make sarnies for lunch rather than buy food out. Hubby says his work colleagues spend a fortune on meals at work. We none of us own a mobile phone, and we walk whenever we can rather than use the car. I rarely go out, I buy clothes in the sales and I have low energy light bulbs all over the house. I am just naturally careful!
My sister is up to her eyes in debt. My mum thinks one of us was switched at birth!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
btw hope your oh is ok, and can you not ring them on their freefone number, explain the situation and ask if you can swap the weekend? Even if it isnt till quiet time again in sept/oct they may be able to accomodate you!

Have already tried but all they can offer is 50% discount and to be brutally honest we cant even afford to take them up on that at the moment! My oh is the sole breadwinner in house and with him being on ssp at the moment i cant pull the belt in any tighter than it already is!!! Thanks for ur kind words of concern and hopefully he will be fighting fit real soon
BTW which one of you was it that was switched??!!
