Wow! Thought I'd have missed the boat on this one, but i gave it a try this morning... And we're off to Norfolk on Monday!
Thankyou so much! It's my other halfs birthday on Tuesday too so what a great freebie birthday present!
For anyone who is still interested, when i called this morning i was offered Norfolk and Southport!
So there are some still out there!Valued Opinions £31.70 - You Gov £5.75 - Brain Juicer £5.25 - One Poll - £9.00 - Pure Profile £7.80:A Why do people ask for thanks? If it's deserved it will be given!:A0 -
I am one of those people who rang up before checking I could go as I didn't really think I would get a free break. I was offered a break on Tuesday for next week which I gratefully accepted, however, since found out I can't get the kids out of school. I am therefore offering this free holiday to any like minded genuine MSE member as also disgusted by the low-life selling "free" holidays on ebay.
The holiday is for 4 nights from 9/7/07, 2 adults & 2 kids at Hemsby in budget accommodation. When I booked it they did ask for names & ages for all guests so I don't know how easy it will be for it to be changed.
Let me know if you are interested, it's FREE, I'll be back on-line later this afternoon.

Why didn't people choose their dates a little more carefully? A free holiday is a great thing but it strikes me that people have just rung up for the sake of it without really considering if they can really use the trip.
Sorry for my little rant.
Your very judgemental and i for one find your post quite offensive. What did or did'nt happen on this board last year is completely irrelevant and in my opinion adds to the 'this is OUR forum...KEEP OUT!' mentality that seems to exist amongst a small percentage of users. i completely agree that anyone attempting to profit from this offer on ebay or elsewhere are bang out of order but as for others, myself included, that are offering up holidays to others who weren't fortunate enough to secure one themselves should be commended not frowned upon! Personally, i cannot take advantage of this fab offer due to unforeseen circumstances(family illness)at the time of booking and i can assure you after recovering from post natal depression and my oh having a massive heart attack at 35, 2 months after the birth of our son i could really have done with a free break as we certainly cannot afford to pay for one now that we are unable to go ahead with this one!!
As for trying to swap locations and dates, at the time i called there was very limited availability left so if ppl can swap around to suit themselves all the better, again in my opinion.Ritetidy x0 -

I couldn't have said it any better myself! i agree totally with you about people being commended for offering the holiday to someone else. and don't see what the issue is with swapping if it means that both parties can then go on holiday.
I think this adds to the community spirit and shows there are kind genuine people out there - unlike those who are allegedly selling theirs on ebay
To all those who have offered their holidays to others - I would like to say I admire your generosity and thoughtfulness and it has renewed my faith that people as a whole are kind and warm hearted.Manners cost nothing and yet they are priceless0 -

I disagree that people just ring up just for the sake of it, there may be a few. Sometimes things come up that can't be avoided. Personally I think that it is a good thing that if for whatever reason someone can't go they put it on the thread. I can't thank 'Sharon Currie' enough for offering me her place. I probably wouldn't have been able to go on holiday otherwise.
As for people swapping if they were offered certain locations that weren't ideal they probably thought that a holiday anywhere is better than nothing. It was only later that new dates and location were added.
I know that this is your opinion (and everyone is entitled to one) but I hope that it doesn't put people off posting here (especially newbies). I am grateful for the advice that I have read on this thread.0
