Sounds silly, but does anyone have any tips. This is my first date (she called it that) for coming up to 7-8 years

Be completely yourself and enjoy being in her company. Dating someone is all about being relaxed and having fun with them.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I remember my brother pre-date, would spray lynx down his boxer shorts 'just in case'.....

God knows what the 'lucky lady' thought, if it got that far...hopefully he's grown out of it now though!

    Be myself check.

Is it really bad that shes texting me (25 times) about eastenders and now I've put it on to see what shes on about.

Depends on whether you are the sort who can hack Eastenders becoming part of your life or not. I cant think of much worse and it would possibly be a deal breaker for me but each to their own.

She probably just misses the pre-bathtime cuddle in front of eastenders that's all ;).

You've lived in a house together so no need for the pre-date jitters, is there? The conversation would just carry on from what you usually talk about.

Simon doesn't seem so unsure of himself on other posts he's made recently. It's almost as if he has a dual personality. Plenty of confidence when joining in other discussions, almost to the point of arrogance on occasions. He doesn't like Royal Mail, that's for sure!

Just treat her like one of your insurance clients, i.e. listen to what she has to say and make her feel relaxed in your company. Don't tell her she's a 'tool' for liking Eastenders though! ;)

Still wondering what on earth her role in your firm is, that you had an office shut-down for eight days over Christmas, while she had to work shifts. I didn't know insurance was a "shift" working job.

(Well there was nowt on telly tonight...)
