Had a lovely day in the park, the kids played, I took loads of food, I did buy a coffee in the leisure centre because my flask broke and we used the loo twice so I felt guilty!
Got Tesc@ delivery coming first thing tomorrow then I'm off to work and the children are going to the beach with a friend so it should be a NSD.
Need to make a start on job application, I need this job! If not I'm thinking of going to university but am not sure if its doable, I think I would have to do an access course, childcare would be a nightmare and then there's finances!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Another NSD for me
chopping wood and doing housework didn't leave time for spending! And eating from freezer and shelves is cheap!! x

This thread is very quiet at the moment!
Roof man has just been to fix the tile that fell off the other night - he didn't charge anything (I didn't expect hom to tbh, we have paid him to do 2 roofs in recent months )
I made blackberry muffins yesterday evening, to start to use some of the frozen blackberry mountain, so no need to buy treats
All frugal so far, but OH has to pick up his truck shortly as it has been fixed, and that most definitely won't be
Enjoying my holiday, and starting to dread going back to work, even though it is only for a few days0 -
natnat have you thought about the OU (open university) I started in February with them, you don't need any formal qualifications just need to do some basic reading things to check you have a grasp of basic english. They've been very helpful and supportive as I have other issues which could affect me studying. If you want to know any more just shout!
Had a great day out yesterday, was frugal but could have been better as I spent £2.20 on car parking but that was the whole day, but then purchased ice creams for the 3 of us £3.60 normally would wait and get a box from the supermarket but decided to have a treat!Grocery Challenge 2024

I spent out on a steam mop yesterday. I am getting too old to carry a heavy mop and bucket of water upstairs. I also bought two over the door hangers as I am making laundry bags to get rid of the ugly plastic dirty washing basket. I am being frugal - started a huge pot of casserole with whoops mixed veg - 8p + carrot batons - 4p. I have some AF suet to make dumplings.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I bought some back of the door shoe storage bags and keep cleaning items in one, stationary in another, computer parts in another and toiletries in the last one. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Hi guys
My cat is recovering well, still not sure what's done but he slept all day yesterday which is unusual as he normally stays in for a couple of hours max then he's back outside, eventually got him to eat at about 6pm, he went out for maybe 30 mins, came back in and went back to sleep......however 5.10am this morning he landed with a thud on my bed and announced he was well enough to go outside :rotfl:
He's still not quite right but I'm not as worried as I was :T
One of my cats somehow hurt his back leg a few weeks ago whilst I was on holiday. Mum was in a real panic as he wouldn't eat and could hardly move and she had no way of getting him to a vet. A few days later all seemed well again. I think maybe he slipped on the wet decking and pulled a muscle too.
Merry, really sorry to hear of your loss. Sending hugs xx
I need to get back to a more frugal way of thinking. It's weird how when I stop posting on here, I stop thinking in a MSE way. Why does sharing with complete, faceless strangers make me more inclined to be MSE?0 -

Hi
My cat's back to normal now it's as though nothing was wrong, I think I just worry because he cant tell me whats wrong and according to my vet, cats are well known for hiding serious injuries/illnesses as they're still relatively wild and its the natural thing for them to do.
My other cat was ill last year and I only realised when she stopped eating that she had a tumour on the side of her tongue and she ended up needing an operation...the tumour turned out to be non-cancerous but sadly she was hit by a car at xmas and didn't survive.
On a lighter noteonly one more day at work then I get some time off, really need it now, struggling to get up in the mornings which is normally not an issue and constantly yawning at work
Dont fancy going shopping this weekend as it'll probably be busy, dont understand why people go mad and buy huge amounts of food for easter, the shops are shut one day, surely no-one needs to double or treble the amount of food they would normally buy. I'm going to continue using up stores so had a tin of chicken soup out of cupboard and a crusty bread roll out of freezer for tea....yum!0
