Hi everyone sorry for not posting as much, life sort of gets in the way if you know what I mean.
A NSD today, took one of the dogs for a really long walk today, he loved it:T took water, apple and dog biscuits with me so we were both happy. Did lots of house work so this might help with the health kick.
Got good news from work this week over £2k pay rise :j it seems I have been underpaid for my job compared to my colleagues, so nice surprise.
I was also given some lovely flower pots today so if the weather is better tomorrow I will try and get them planted up with various seeds and bulbs.
I have just found that one of my ddrs hasn't been claimed for over a year and it is a life assurance. Contacted the company who say they have never heard of me. It was with b*****s but they sold it on. We have been paying it for over 12 years so I guess I might have a fight on my hands will keep you posted.
Cheap night in I have been loaned a few videos that I have wanted to see for ages.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Just in from an unexpected invitation to see a college production of Much Ado About Nothing, super theatre and waitress service to our seats. The college puts on excellent bi-monthly plays/musicals with prices that are a quarter of professional theatres. Friend's OH wasn't able to go so she asked me and wouldn't take the money for the spare ticket, so I wouldn't take what she offered for my petrol.
Called in to Mr M on the way out, got a tray of 14 chicken wings rtc 50p, that takes care of the dog's breakfasts for the next couple of weeks. Also got a pack of 20 caramel shortbread bites rtc 10p which I'll take to meeting with friends tomorrow.0 -
Still trying to be frugal, have racked up 4 nsds this week, but yesterday I succumbed to the lure in Ald* and bought 3 clematis Montana. They will go along the new fence that lovely neighbour has erected at the bottom of the garden. It is a bare area as the storm damage to the trees there meant they had to be taken down to the scrunt, and that whole border needs re-done.
I re-covered the furniture in the conservatory last weekend for about £30 (posh made ones were quoted at nearly £800, ) and have had only good comments, in fact one friend wants me to do hers, too.
Same friend has asked me if I would do her 6 garden containers this year, so we trade, she buys me a big bag of compost, I fill the pots with the extra plants I always have.
Food wise I am still using the ys'd meat and Ald* six veg, so keeping costs well down.
This thread is keeping me on track, thank you all.0 -

Morning!
It's a glorious day here, currently watching the start of the London marathon in the sunshine pouring through the window, practically the same as taking part in it, i'm sure!
This week has been a bit of a mixed bag spending/money wise. started well, with a rebate for £216 for union membership and professional registration fees (having learnt how easy it was to apply from this website!) However, feeling a flush I allowed myself two trips to the new M&S food that has opened at work, even though I had bought my own food. (this is very bad for my healthy eating kick as well as purse :-/) Also spent £25 on treats for pets...really not required at all!!!
For the rest of today I'm going to plan & do shopping for the week. I'm working a twilight shift today, 18.00-02.00 so will have a short nap later.
Lovefullshelves- hello! I'm a relatively new fen gal, been here 18months.

Feeling a bit down in the dumps today...got up this morning and my cats not well, he was out last night and looks like he's hurt one of his back legs, no blood or anything, he's not limping, he can still jump and he's not constantly licking any particular area which is what he normally does if there's an actual wound so no need for a vet....but when he tried to lie down on that side he couldn't and he's not eaten a thing yet
guessing he's pulled a muscle or had a bit of a fall during the night so just a bit sore. Just dont like him being off colour
and I was supposed to be off work for a week starting tomorrow but at 3pm on Friday they asked me to postpone it until next week as we still haven't finished our project and no one else is suitably experienced enough to cover my role....I agreed eventually as I started to feel guilty about leaving people in the lurch but now regretting my decision big time:(
