Morning, I just wrote this once then my wifi dropped!!

I will have a look at the OU, my problem is motivation to study! But I'm sure there's still deadlines.

Yes lots of deadlines and they are very good at giving suggested study planners and support through turorials online and face to face!

I know nothing about CT (student so exempt!) so hope someone can correct me, but could you claim to live in it and OH claim to live in current house? So single occupancy reduction on both?

I am so unlucky that I would get caught out and prosecuted and anyway.....I am too honest. Makes for an easier if not more expensive life. :D

Just when everything seems to be going okay you seem to run up against the proverbial wall eh :wall:

DH has been told this week that the company he's been working for through an agency for the past three years, but now has new management, has decided to stop using agency - so he is now out of work. Compounding the issue, they were putting him through his driver cpc next month and so that is now a No-no as well, and now most companies not taking on without having a cpc. :(

Hope you all have a great Easter :easter:

Sorry to hear your news :(
Could your DH not ask them for a job direct? After all if he's been good enough for the last 3 years (even as agency) so why can't they offer him something?
I know there may be no position , yet I'd like to think we live in a world where anything is, possible :o

lynnejk, sorry to hear about your DH. I agree with MadamMim2013 though why not ask the new management if he could be employed directly through them. Please be aware though that if he starts working for the other company directly most agencies will ask the company to pay an "introduction" fee or whatever they could it these days (basically a fee for introducing the agency worker to the company). I was in this situation once and told the company that I would not tell the agency that I would work directly for them. When I gave my notice to the agency I said I would work for the council which wasn't true. This means of course that you cannot work for that agency for quite some time again. In my situation I never had to work for that agency since my new position was permenent. I also then lived in a larger city with many other agencies to work for. Hope this all makes sense to you.

Fingers crossed that the job situation gets resolved quickly.

Lazy day today as I have a bit of a headache :(

I did walk to Lidls this morning with DD2 and her little one in the sunshine. It was a bit of a struggle getting back with all that we had bought (filled my trolley, a big shopping bag and the rack thing beneath baby's pram) but as DD said, we need the exercise :rotfl:

The bill seemed high, so I checked it before I left the shop and they had charged me 6 times for the same £3.99 item  They apologised and refunded my card, but it just goes to show how careful you have to be
Other than that, I have just done a little bit in the garden today and turned out the airing cupboard which kept having stuff put in it, but not enough taken out :o Plenty of room now though :D

OH is cooking the tea :T as I feel a bit yuck - I have gone off coffee (I am usually an addict) so something not right. Hope I feel better tomorrow. I don't want to waste this lovely weather feeling poorly :(
  • lynnjk - sorry about your news x
dawnw - i remember he last time I went off coffee...I was pregnant!!! :D
I am feeling most annoyed today. Here I am, being as careful as I can and OH went and got a generator today. £2000 we don't have. He didn't ask me first, he told me this morning as he left to get it. I have taken years to get myself out of debt. I have scrimped and done without. I'm trying to sell my truck, its worth £4000. I'm guessing he;s presuming the money from the truck will pay for this generator. But its farm money. Not mine to waste.
    Two thousand pounds.
Has he not noticed the money we have?
Two thousand pounds of debt. Yay.
And he doesn't even know if it'll work.
We'd talked about getting one in the future, when WE COULD AFFORD IT!! I am at a loss and I can't talk to him about it as it just makes me fuming then it makes me cry. I know I've gotta learn to talk to him about money. But I get so very angry.
    Oh well. Hurumph.
have a good easter everyone x

I have a pack of Easter cards so didn't have to buy any this year, took one to a friend this afternoon when I went to meet her beautiful boxer. She lives 3 miles away so minimal petrol day. She took me to a lovely little cafe in her village where she treated me to a truffle egg and a hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream. Not frugal on the calories, unfortunately :o
Found a little 'match book' type thing in the shed, the 'matches' are in fact sticks with herb seeds in them. Don't know how long it's been there but I've put the sticks in a pot for now and hope something usable comes up.
Since I had new lever taps put in this week the water seemed much more fierce so I turned it down at the stopcock. It's not made any noticeable difference to the flow but hopefully will when I get the bill.
Since changing my landline plan to evenings and weekends only I've been using the mobile more (I have a £10 a month plan with them). I got the first bill on Thursday and it's saved me about £18 a month in rental and calls :)

Keep trying to beat the beggars! ;)

Thank you for all the kind thoughts and comments.

Yes, he has tried that but the new management will only take on drivers that already have a driver cpc   - what happened to loyalty I don't know - (shaking head).

Just trying to keep chin up and fingers xd and hoping something turns up soon

Hope you all have a super weekend - and loads of choccies/flowers/what you like :)
