Long time no post!! March has been a truly awful month on the personal front so I've not posted on the forum too much, just in my diary.
Frugally speaking, March has been completely all over the place. Some NSDs but some big spends too. Lost the run of myself a bit but hoping to get back on track ASAP!
Friends, family and lovely online forum friends have really kept me going recently, after coming up against some horrid people in RL recently. But I'm getting there!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PstrAfoMKlc
Well I've really missed you Skinty - your posts always brighten up my day :A"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
hello everyone, another busy eBay weekend here.
I did a little top up shop on Saturday for £13.00, and that means I don't need to do a full grocery order for another week, so it'll be three weeks between orders. Really pleased with that, as previously I did an online grocery order every week, plus a top up shop!
Oh and NSD today as well
Hope things improve SkintyEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I am gaining new skills but I really miss the lovely people I worked with. I'm not saying it was a definite mistake as it may lead to better things, but do go into it with eyes wide open. Ask if there are any current or future staffing issues or any other issues to be aware of - they won't tell you that and then when I started I thought "oh !!!!" and wouldn't have taken it if I'd known (but too late then). Don't let me put you off though, just do your research.:)
I have my interview tomorrow so we shall see how it goes. I think that's the thing I worry about, moving and it being the wrong decision. However since I joined quite a few people have left the company not in my department but in related departments. Ie Account Managers etc one of them has had a really good offer to work elsewhere and hes off like a shot. Another is off to work for our main competitor!
A lot of people are disastisfied with the job and workplace due to management changes, no pay rises, no employee benefits they feel overworked but with no reward. They have had a load of redundancies over the years and haven't had said payrises for 8 years I think. So obviously the issue for me is can I progress? I would love to be a project manager however those roles were made redundant and the work passed on to the account managers who are majorly over worked. One of the account managers that I get on with said hes got some issues that he wants to privately text me about for advice. What keeps us together is the people we work with. We have friends and enjoy it. But other than that what else is there? So if the people are the new job were bas-turds and the work was horrible obviously it would be wrong! But hey, not even had an interview yet so its more than likely that I won't be successful and decision will be taken off me.Money money money.

4 NSD/NPD's as I've been staying away for a long weekend at a hotel which was booked/paid for last September and got a discount at that time for booking early. We stayed half board and cheekily took some bacon, sausages and toast from breakfast for a snack lunch each day.
I'll fill the car up in the morning on my way home, there's a Mr S filling station near here which is a couple of pennies cheaper than at home, I'll pay with my 123 card to get the interest and get nectar points as well0 -
On another note, this month has been another month of overspending. Started well, has ended not so well! Had to buy a hedge trimmer as I borrowed a friends and it broke! A few other things as well!Money money money.

I have had a mixed month. I have seriously reduced the discretionary impact on my current account by around 90%. The credit card has not really improved that much as I have made more than a few purchases. So next month will try and limit those to two or three. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

TM6, was that question for me? if so, it was the Workington morronsons and it was 4 50pm.
I have 3 sort-of step grand daughters who are all pregnant at the same time, managed to get them each a mum and me gift set for £1 each at Tesc0s will collect them tomorrow, just a little treat, quite frugal, and will make them feel special on mothers day (l hope)0 -
Interview went okay, its always hard to tell with these things. They said promotion could be in 3 -12 months depending on how hard I work.. Hmmmm....
I know one or two people that work there.. I'm hoping things work out okay. I don't know if they actually liked me. One guy was lovely, the other guy was meh.. It was a very negative interview like 'when did you last receive criticism' and 'whats your weaknesses', what would your previous employer say you need to improve on..
Well, its done now.
Onwards to a peaceful day at home instead.094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Payday for me and OH this week. I seriously need to start reigning myself in. We go on holiday for 4 nights to Aberdeen soon. We are staying in a premier inn so not to expensive and I am NOT going to pay what premier inn ask for a breakfast. There is a Dobbies nearby which often has a 2 for 1 on breakfasts offer so here's hoping its still on when we are there.
Not sure what my wage will be this month - I am hoping that the 1% pay rise backdated to last april will be there but there is no guarantee. Savings have taken a hit recently with my overspending so I really need to rethink things and reorganise as needed.
Off now to register on the GC thread as I need to get my food budgets sorted again too.0 -
Have had a rough few months moneywise. Started a new job last October and was unsure if it was for me especially as there was a key member of staff that without going into details, made me very uncomfortable and I was considering looking for something else.
Apparently there were many issues going on with this member of staff and after a prolonged sick leave, it has officially been announced he is not returning which is like a huge weight off my shoulders!!
I get on well with everyone else so now can settle down into the job.
The other problems have been with our 2 buy to let properties. After lots of hassle with non paying tenant, we decided to sell the least nice of the two and have a viewing on Saturday so fingers crossed.
Had problems with the other property as well with non paying tenants but have got them out, cleaned it up (thankfully no damage) and a new tenant moved in yesterday.
So thats two of my three problems sorted. Just need to get the other property sold as cant afford to keep paying the mortgage on it indefinitely and leaving things moneywise rather tight to say the least.
Cant get my finances in order till this gets sorted and hate feeling up in the air. Not gone into debt yet though!!Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600
