  • So the CC stayed empty for all of 24hrs... Something got refunded onto it, so I used it to buy train tickets (that I'll get reimbursed for) as a way of moving the refund money into my current account. Then paid for my graduation tickets online on it as I couldn't remember my debit card number... Back to the starting blocks.

    Evening all

Haven't been round much, still working hard, get in at 7.30, make tea then in bed by 9.30 ..not much time to do anything else.

Managed to leave a bit earlier tonight and went to al*i to stock up on fresh food as my fridge only had 4 pints of milk, butter and cheese in it!

Seeing as I get paid on Tuesday and wont need anymore money, have transferred the remaining funds in my bank account to the credit card. Hope to clear the card next month or at least make a hefty dent in the balance.

Got my new council tax bill through the post this week for the coming year , its going up £3 a month so have updated my spreadsheets.

    Work a nightmare today :(

OH managed to get a roofer round to give a quote for the extension roof. He contacted the one who did the main roof last year. He did a good job and the price was less than budgeted. He gave a very reasonable quote again, so he will be doing it next Tuesday. Hope we don't get too much rain till then

Not a NSD as I succumbed to a magazine for me and comics for small granddaughters whom we will see on Sunday :)

Need to buy a birthday present for the elder one, who is going to be 7 on Monday :)

Tomorrow I will need to go to my unit and tidy up / restock as a bulky item sold today by all accounts. Also Lidls for shopping, and the strawberry plants that arrived today from an ebay seller will need planting.

So, all in all a spendy few days coming up :o

    Hi all

Your all doing so well. I catch up the posts every evening. Lowered electric dd by 12 today. He wanted me to keep it the same to cover arrears on gas. Bout 200 but I refused. Better in my account than theirs.

I know I don't post much, but I am still here reading posts..

Going to try and grow more veg this year.. and try and cut back even further..

I did try doing a daily top up shop with a max spend of £5.. BUT.. I did find if there was reduced or offer stuff I would just go over lol..

so now I am meal planning big time... with a Budget of £35 a week.. so finger crossed one shop a week will work.

What I wanted to ask... has anyone used the hair dyes from a £ shop?? I just used my last one, I bought a few that was reduced in mr T a while back..

I used up my £2 reward voucher in Mr T today. I rarely go there so I had a good nose around the aisles. I bought a packet of 100 gram of cinnamon sticks, it must be around 15 sticks in there for 99 pence. This is a bargain compared to the jar that I normally buy, where you get 4 sticks for £1.99.

Tomorrow I shall make homemade granola in the ActiFry, this seems to last much longer than the ones you buy in the shop.

This week I have had several NSD days :T

I have been seriously using the YS bins. This week I have bought many YS items all at 90% off so even though I have used more of my cash float than usual I have reduced the drawdown of my food stocks. So I will be able to put off my big online shop for yet another month. In fact I have boosted them all for less than £7. I will also be able to delay my veg box purchase for another week.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
