Draft Rejection letter to UKPC - thoughts ?
Comments

You have 3 choices.
1 Pay it.
2 Ignore it and put up with threatening letters for months (you cannot "reject" a demand for money as such they will just ignore that)
3. Appeal against it.
It's your choice.0 -
It's nothing about being an inconvenience - it's more to do with the information being here in the first place ( and it isn't conflicted as you state ).
People here give their time for free yet new posters seem to think this is a free legal service that can be held accountable.
As you're clearly worried, I'll list again, what you need to do ( and no regular will disagree with this ) :
1. Wait for NtK
2. Soft appeal to the PPC to get a POPLA code
3. Once you have the POPLA code construct an appeal using the stickies
4. Post the appeal here for validation that all areas are covered
5. Send the appeal to POPLA
6. Get the successful appeal email from POPLA
That really is it in a nutshell.0 -
We are not here to make you feel inadequate about anything! But you come here asking for advice, and you ignore people who have seen this 1000s of times, if you are not prepared to follow advice that works, then there is little point in continuing!
It's your money, we've done as much as we can, I suggest you use the third option in paying, the other two were ignoring or appealing. So you help this company fund harassment of the next victims! You have basically wasted everyone's time on this thread.
Sorry for being bluntWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I apologise for being old
I apologise for being upset
I apologise for being scared
I apologise for being vulnerable
I apologise for trying to help and protect my husband and I’ll apologise to him for failing to do that
I’ll go away now and stop bothering you and I do sincerely hope none of you are ever made to feel as inadequate as I do this very moment.
I'm not that young myself, am female like you (a wife and Mum, with a husband who believes in perceived authority and worries about stuff a lot more than I do!). Like most regulars here, I do this in my own time after a full day at work.
We do get tired, I get tired and had had it up to here today with the same old queries. Sorry, I apologise as I don't want people to feel upset and inadequate after asking for help. The sticky threads really are the places to look that would be relevant for you, including making a successful complaint to the retailer or landowner which can get these fake parking tickets quashed the same day.
The regulars on this forum can easily help deal with this scam for you. Here's a case that started out like yours with UKPC (bit different as there's no appeal to POPLA in Scotland) but look at the simple outcome on page 2 after we nagged the OP to keep prodding the BPA with a complaint about disability discrimination:

I tentatively ask, and not to be nosy, was anyone in the car elderly/infirm/disabled, such that parking slightly over a line to make it easier to board or alight the car, would have been justified? It's possible the driver/passenger in your case could be covered under the Equality Act like in the linked case.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I respect the fact that you are of an older generation and may find this difficult. You Want to act honestly and believe that the PPC is an honorable organisation as well. Regrettably that are not and show little or no compassion to reasonable mitigation.
The regular contributors here have helped hundreds of people in your position and I have seen a great increase in threads over recent months. Many of the people you have taken umbrage with are the most consistent helpers on any forum I have visited - just look at the post counts and Thank you counts for them.
You can now either cut your nose off to spite your face or work with them to get the result you want. So why not take the advice given, follow the Newbies sticky thread and come back with drafts of your appeal and we will help you through this. If you would rather not, then I wish you well but feel sad that you don't give yourself a chance to use the expertise available here
. These guys share my frustration that we know we can get you off these ludicrous penalty charges and it may have come across differently but that is what it is.0
