Thanks BrightonandHove. I understand why to write in the third person but why wait for the notice to keeper ? My husband doesn't deny the 'offence' and I'm not sure he can keep his nerve to wait for the NtK. He was all in favour of just paying at first and it's taken me a lot of gentle encouragement to get him this far......
For someone of his age waiting for the NtK may affect his health.
Sorry but how does waiting for a letter affect anyone.
Ones health. Sorry but I do not believe that for one minute.

And by doing nothing?
The likelihood of any enforcement action (other than threatograms) is still minimal as to not be affecting the averages in any meaningful way.
If the recipient has nothing better to do then the occupational therapy could be useful, however let us not forget this is still a money-making enterprise where the primary reliance is on ignorance and scaring the recipient. When this doesn't work, the shock value is lost, and the potential for losses by taking pursuit further increases.0 -

Ignoring these when the option of using Popla and removing any risk of court action (however unlikely) is not worth itProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -

Indeed. And should the PPCs find a sucker punch in the future they will go through all ignored invoices for the previous six years and take them to court. Ignore is a stupid option ..... unless of course you live in Scotland.0 -

kirbyinfurnesslad - I hope you never get old and frail. This is one of the most insensitive posts I've ever had the misfortune to read. I came to this forum for help not to be called a liar. Waiting for a letter that one already anticipates will be threatening can, and in some cases will, affect people's health.
I have not said that I won't be taking the advice given but to be honest it's getting more complicated and conflicting by the minute.0 -
All
I’m sorry, I’m getting more confused here. I’ve been following the advice on MSE’s ‘Fight Private Parking Tickets’ page and taking the ‘Militant Approach’ route. Are you now saying this is incorrect ?0 -
Send the appeal you've written after you've written it in the third person.
After that wait for the rejection or acceptance.
If it is rejected you will get a POPLA code and then you need to bounce this thread.
That is ALL you need to do at the moment.0 -

Thanks for your measured response but this is a quote from MSE's own Militant Approach route
The militant approach
From this point on, we're in negotiation territory.
If you don't want to use the independent appeals service for the unfair ticket, you can take the militant approach by... Read more
...stating in no uncertain terms you reject the charge and politely state you won't enter into any further correspondence.
Remember, BPA members CAN find owners' contact details via the DVLA, meaning you'll probably get a letter if you don't pay or appeal.
Write to dispute the unfair ticket, though some militant campaigners suggest you ignore the invoice completely. Importantly, in any correspondence...
Don't state you're 'appealing', merely that you're refusing to pay.
Effectively, a ticket from a private firm is an invoice as, in their words, by overstaying your welcome on their land you have agreed to pay a particular sum. By stating you are appealing, it gives unnecessary legitimacy to the ticket.
Are you saying this route should not be taken ? It seems that UKPC can get the RK's details anyway and we're not disputing my husband drove the car and parked it where he did. We're not playing a game just disputing the charge.0 -
