Morning All!
Have done the Saturday orchestra run, plus newspaper-and-bits shopping on the way home. Now need to get some focus and determination going.... Today I want to* do one counter-top well so it doesn't crunch every time you put something down on it
* wash out three smelly bins
* do the final shelf of the fridge which didn't get done yesterday
Then I will* write three urgent Christmas cards
* get ready to do the orchestra run again
Need to get going on this, or the whole morning will vanish...
Starting at 10:30am for a half-hour blitz on the kitchen jobs. Anyone care to keep me company?
MissH xx
p.s. sorry your news isn't so good, Natty0 -

Whoa! It's quiet on here this morning.
(You all obviously have much more interesting lives than me!)
I've done my kitchen chores and the cards, so I'm just enjoying a cuppa before heading off to pick up DD and cello.
Hope everyone has a great weekend: I'm planning to make mince pies this afternoon (some to eat and some to freeze), so I'm starting to feel Christmassy...

ah Miss Higgerty (welcome back BTW) I was flying with you - just having a :coffee: break now.
I have:
Pegged out three washloads (it's mild, dry and a bit breezy so I'm hoping ...;)
THOROUGHLY cleaned the bathroom - including scrubbing tiles around bath/shower with bleach and removing shower screen strip and washing that. Screen itself has had double whammy clean - wipe down with m/f cloth and detergent then polished with windowcleaner and a different m/f cloth to sparkle
emptied DW
washed up some bits
cleaned all upstairs windows except DD's bedroom window which is now open and may well have dried off enough to do now
cleaned kitchen window (outside) as it was yeuch from the wind last week
written (short) shopping list for town, as I have S&G delivery to collect from B00ts
next job - put xmas decs boxes back in loft
take stepladder back to shed, pausing by outside light to replace bulb

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Just sat down to lunch. We are playing cafes. It's an all you can eat buffet style
kids set the little table in the conservatory and I've brought in a tray of finger foods. I'm having a sausage butty
I've done 2 more jars of chili jam, with a slight boil over moment  I've since put damp tea towel in microwave then laid it over the puddle but there's still some to scrape off (halogen hob). Also did one filter of the vodka.
We've topped up the bird feeders, put more expanding foam on the bath panel, stripped mine and DD beds and washed mattress toppers (playing laundry shuffle to get them dry for tonight), emptied DW and started a craft set build - a train that slots together with foam pieces then needs decorating.
Kids are faffing over the food (again) so I've just warned of no snacks for the rest of the weekend if they don't just bladdy get on with it. They'll be complaining its cold soon
Next is nap time. Both (like me) have dark circles under their eyes. Negotiated a nap in return for watching strictly at bedtime.
We won't be around tomorrow, we are going on the Santa Express then out for lunch.Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Healing vibes for Olliecat and hugs for Natty. Dusty's words about cats recovering from an anaesthetic made complete sense, so I hope Ollie is a bit brighter this morning.
Thank you for the *justice* vibes yesterday, particularly Lamewolf and Valli. It is inching forward which is positive and as good an outcome from the meeting as we could have expected. This has been going on for six years, so no-one expects a quick resolution. My belief is that persistence pays off, eventually, so they'll just have to keep going.
Martin-computer-person has delivered and installed the new computer, on which I am now working. It is super-fast and rather slick, so completely out of place at the Honey Bear Homestead. No new specs for me next year, all that money went on the 'puter. Hey ho.
Mrs Dog trotted around, Devil Cat fed and his litter tray dealt with, bed stripped and remade, shopping list compiled, DW emptied, blackbird fed, bedroom tidied. Of my 53 point list yesterday, 19 things got done, and two have been done this morning. Wading through treacle here.Better is good enough.0 -
Kitchen cleaned, after a minor strop at the amount of mess which was lying around -- I have worked really hard this week at keeping it clean and tidy only for the kids and DH to have wrecked it. Much stomping around with a black bag and puffing ensued. Anyway, it's back to rights now.
Tree has been retrieved from the top cupboard and the decs are in from the garage -- we'll get decorating this afternoon.
Currently decluttering my roots which were outrageous. Once I'm showered I'll clean the bathroom, as there's bound to be dye everywhere0 -
Like you Valli washing on the line but the weather is not brilliant so I'll get it in a 15:30
Just been to get our Christmas tree so I'll do a quick dust in the LR in a minute and DH will move the tv out of the way. Once I've warmed up with my cuppa I'll do an hour of jobs I want to get doe outside, I've already wrapped up the wormery this morning. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Natty sorry to hear that Ollie is so poorly; I know you'll do everything in your power to make him as comfy as possible; feel-better vibes on their way to him from here, of course.
Cassie and Bailey are here - they've made themselves completely at home, and are happily moulting all over the lounge carpet.:D I put the Dys0n round yesterday, and am now not going to bother again til Monday, when they go home. It's only for 2 days, they're moulting so much that trying to keep it cleared would be a full-time job, and in any case it's what I call "clean dirt" iyswim.:o Much more productive to spend the time grooming them, playing with them, and generally helping them enjoy their stay.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
