I'm on a tea break

I have dusted 3 of the four bedrooms, tidying and putting stuff back where it belongs as I go. Sorted out tomorrow's wash for first thing and hidden DS3's present.

Plan is to do he last bedroom (mine), the bathroom and then hoover upstairs. TBH downstairs is in much more need but I felt the need to see results. Then I'll make soup and cake for when the boys get home. Tempted in the dining room to stuff everything in a box until after Christmas but will I ever open it again?

Weekly 'puter maintenance is under way; the ancient XP pc is getting flakier, I think it may well turn up its toes soon.:( Not a major problem, we have another desktop pc, a laptop and a netbook, but it'll be like losing an old friend when it does finally go.:(

compbunny, I would just explain to your GP:

How long the headaches and migraines have been affecting you
How they manifest (is the pain always in the same place? Do you get vision problems? An aura before a migraine? How long do they last? How do you feel afterwards/the day after?)
What you have already tried to ease them (OTC or prescription meds, relaxation exercises, whatever)

Also, explain that they are having a big impact on your life; if you are losing days regularly to migraines, they should try their best to sort you out.

Defragment PC and run spyware scans while scrubbing

Wash any chairs/sofas-
Clean curtains/blinds etc
Got an hour...
Wash bathmats/shower curtain and furry bog hats
[STRIKE]Replace any sponges/flannels/toothbrushes etc that need it
throw out any empty bottles.. decant dribbles into fuller bottles[/STRIKE]

• Wrap all the presents for family/friends
• Finalise shopping orders/lists for your christmas food shop.. remember shops are only closed for one day!!!!

• Choose a manky kitchen cupboard and make it shine.. the inside.. NOT the outside!

• Make a timetable for christmas prepartions.. turkey in.. turkey out.. etc!!! DD1 and DD2 need to submit their food requests for their visits

Ok - really can't put it off any longer. I have put away the shopping and drunk some coffee - now going upstairs to tackle the bathroom of doom....:eek:

Crowbar found and used to good effect in the spice cupboard. Fridge sorted. Multiple lists written and a (very) few things crossed off one of them. No word from OH yet. Not sure if that's good or bad news.

Last night at 7.25 the theatre lodger person who is staying phoned from the theatre to ask if I could take her clean jeans and cardigan to the theatre because she had been working in paint-spattered jeans all day and was expected to attend a 'do' straight after the show. Mrs Dog and I sauntered down there in the rain - which was absolutely okay - and she had a towel rub and huge feed when we got back. She hasn't wanted to move all day!

Phew. Must sit down. Have pulled yards and yards of DD's hair out of the plug holes, plus disgusting black oily gunk attached to it. Have swilled sink and bath u-bends with soda crystals and hot water and all seems to be a bit more fragrant now. Did a smash and grab on the iffy towels and flannels while I was at it, emptied the overflowing bin (ugh! toenails!!!) and stuck the basket with the socks in the utility room for washing.

Then topped up the pot pourri and cleaned the loo.

If that doesn't improve the fragrance in the bathroom, I give up!

Just going to have a cuppa and then hoover the floor.

How is everyone else doing?

Thankyou for the tips everyone My GP did his usual "the headaches are just a symptom of M.E which is purely a psychological condition and you can get yourself better by pretending that you don't have it" routine, but I stood firm and said I had problems with headaches and migraines before I had M.E and eventually he prescribed triptans to help with the very worst migraines. So hopefully that will make life easier on the worst days! Now to trying to figure out how to prevent the other headaches without the support of my GP!

WM on, and nothing urgently needs doing housework so going to recover with a nice glass of water!

Oh how this made me laugh - I have just been thinking the very same thing about my dining room and the rest of my paper "frog"!!!:rotfl:

I have put up two trees (bare no baubles yet) ironed everything that needed it, blitzed the shower for the first time and made a stew for tea which is now bubbling in the oven as I was too late to use the slow cooker - 7 hrs on low would have had us eating at bedtime!!

I am fed up of moving the much smaller piles of froglets around the downstairs. Not sure if I should just leave them where they are and put them away in a box on Christmas Eve if I haven't finished them by then. Is it just me or do they reproduce more quickly than I can get rid of them?

Not sure if I deserve a glass of wine tonight - trying to save it for Xmas!!

Well I've achieved nothing again today except a little bit of work admin and the window I had to wipe the two top ones and start again as it just couldn't be saved. Then I spotted that some of it had run so I had to clean that up with cotton buds and touch up that paintwork. My phone hasn't stopped either but did enjoy a rare chat with a friend on the phone

Right, going to kick DD into gear and get some housework done before I need to go out to work at 6pm.
