A quick question:
Does anyone have an idea what to do with our old dinner service? It doesn't look nice anymore and I've been given a much better one, but I don't want to throw it away if there's a possible use for it.
Crocks? For your plant pots?
I'm all done here. Even decluttered some stray eyebrow fluffs
I diverted via a pound shop on the way home. I saw some funny stuff, so thought I'd do pound shop Santa and leave random presents lying around to be found throughout the day. For my mum I got a novelty shower cap shaped like an elephantand my stepdad (builder) some pink protective DIY specs. MIL has a gaudy headband with diamant! "ears" and FIL a fancy dishbrush (always gets sent to do the pans). DD has a Tinkerbell turbie towel (she pinches mine) and DS has a toy cleaning set cos he is messy. I've got bright red hair extensions on a headband
thought it would inject a bit more humour into the day...
Also got more festive stickers as DD made heaps of "cards" this weekend and used up most of the craft bits. She also has a little notepad she's been "writing" her shopping lists in. I think she can talk binary - it's all 1s and 0s lol.Bossymoo

DS1 has decided too be sick again, I hope he keeps it too himself and passes quickly.
I am watching Knocked Up I love this film its one of the very few chick flicks that is actually funny.
Outlaws are coming on Friday for a visit I CBA with them, hopefully we can cancel because of ds1 being poorly.0 -
Well at 7am I was up on top of the work surfaces, cleaning windows and then the tops of the cupboards. 1 lot had paper on but the other didn't for some reason. They took a while to get clear but the one's with paper were dead easy
. I took the paper off, wiped it and then relined. I have done both sides now with lining paper from the cupboard under the stairs.
Didn't do the hoover, will do it tomorrow. I have dug out the bits for it so I can dismantle it properly.
Going up to collect a bag full of charity gifts tomorrow to bring home and wrap. Hope to get it all done and manage to get a sleep in too before work in the evening.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

If you haven't got room to keep everything, MrsChaos, there are plenty of charities which help needy people set up home and would be grateful for plates, bowls, etc.
(((Hugs))) to dancemum and GWS vibes for your DF.
GWS wishes to lozzy's DS1, along with "inlaws stay away" vibes.
We have had a busy day today. DH and I decluttered 5½lbs between us at SW:D and then the hairdresser relieved me of a couple more ounces (DH has very little hair, so no advantage to him in shaving his head before weigh-in :rotfl:).
By the time we got back, the carpenter had planed and re-hung most of the doors, so they no longer rub on the new flooring. The house is already much warmer! He also fixed the bookcases, CD racks and bridging unit to the lounge wall and did several little jobs which take nanoseconds with his electric screwdriver instead of taking me hours by hand.
DH :A built 2 CoDs before his housemaid's knees gave out and he had to sit down (he has bursitis)
This evening :rudolf: I have unpacked 10 packing cases and almost completed my November challenge :j (I just need to freecycle, though I can't imagine that there will be many people wanting to pack up their whole house over the holiday season!) It doesn't seem to have made a great deal of difference to the number of boxes still waiting to be dealt with, but the LR is beginning to look lived in, and so far I have found places for most things apart from an antique desk and chair that belonged to my great-great-aunt and my father's revolving bookcase. If my children don't want them, I shall have to send them to auction: this is the downside of downsizingI have also written 20 cards today :xmassign:
Tomorrow's list:
- post office
- more unpacking and putting away
- freecycle boxes
- more deliveries expected
- sort ingredients for Christmas cake
Sleep well, everyone - see you tomorrow.0 -
I'm not getting very far this week am I
I've done my bit of work, made my bed, tided up the kitchen (although there's still dishes to do), sorted the livingroom out ready for my "6 boxes" to arrive tomorrow for work, written all the cards that need to be posted and took great delight in ex calling to make Christmas arrangements for DD to go and see him/his side of the family as it means I can send cards up with DD instead of having to post them
:money: This also means I have a few days where I can sit down and get work done, leaving it all out without worrying about DD spilling her drinks on it like she did the other week.
WEEK
Wed: Work all day (orders, calling cards, change), update accounts, Laundry, Finish window, Write xmas cards (work, family)
Thur: DD on trip until 7pmish (making own way home), deliveries (territory), Notes for customers with contact details for over Xmas/next book due, update paperwork.
Fri: Deliveries (school), bank? top up shop?
Sat: Ex here
Sun:
MUST DO:
Dye hair
Write & post Xmas cards
Finish xmas shopping lists ready for when I'm paid.
Book Mr A delivery for Xmas week (include stuff for over new year while DD is away)
Ideal:
Arrange charity collection (DD has outgrown loads of clothes etc)
Bake Xmas cakes & mince pies
Marzipan Xmas cake next day to stop it getting eaten again
Finish Xmas shopping if I have the money 'spare'.
Xmas decorations up (not happening before Friday at the earliest)

I wonder if newspaper would do a good job? I agree, great idea!
Morning all :hello:
Working for four hours this morning; the house is massive, their conservatory is twice the size of my lounge  plus they have three bathrooms, I can't imagine I'll have much GUAG to do my own when I get home
DH's appointment went ok, his blood pressure is through the roof though so a major lifestyle shift is in order. He's back in 6 weeks to see if it's done any good and they will repeat all the blood tests then.
Hugs to you dancemum, I hope this is just a minor blip in DF's recovery.
Off to make coffee and poke DS2 awake. He is so tired and vile, he's in dire need of a holiday. 8 school days to go, and counting.0
