Weekly Flylady Thread 9th December 2013

I've actually managed to skim through the thread, going to make myself take some time out from online stuff/life every day to play a few games, have a little read here and a little post about my achievements.
Was awake all night, sleep pattern is shot at the moment so just embracing it and sleeping when I am tired and doing what I want when I want. Anyway, managed to clean all the mirrored furniture in my bedroom (no idea why I blinking decided to buy that), as my DH is asleep now after a night shift (back at work tonight), I have set myself the easy, but boring and quiet challenge today of getting my 5kg of potatoes peeled and par boiled for roasties/turned in to mash. Got room in my freezer too so might as well make myself get it done. Plus I can sit on my backside to do it
Finally almost recovered from my measles/then viral infection it has taken me over 3 weeks, which is a long time even for me, but thanks to flylady my home didn't suffer too muchThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Dancemum - *hugs*
Newspaper does work to line your cupboard tops. Use a recent one and you'll also be able to tell when you last cleaned up there
Up and raring to go this morningUpstairs is tidy, batch of dishes done, kitchen tidied, WM nearly done its first load, DD nagged to wear a hat/scarf/gloves to school since she won't wear her coat
She does wear a thick jumper and a blazer though so its not too bad. Just waiting on my delivery to arrive then I can get on with that, it should be here any time.
Plan for today is to get work done and all the laundry, the two most space consuming jobs. I must be mad :rotfl:I'm going to have to vacuum downstairs as well, just noticed DD has left half the playing fields on the rug again. Off to grab the next load of washing and make some breakfast :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I wonder if newspaper would do a good job? I agree, great idea!
Morning all :hello:
Working for four hours this morning; the house is massive, their conservatory is twice the size of my lounge  plus they have three bathrooms, I can't imagine I'll have much GUAG to do my own when I get home
DH's appointment went ok, his blood pressure is through the roof though so a major lifestyle shift is in order. He's back in 6 weeks to see if it's done any good and they will repeat all the blood tests then.
Hugs to you dancemum, I hope this is just a minor blip in DF's recovery.
Off to make coffee and poke DS2 awake. He is so tired and vile, he's in dire need of a holiday. 8 school days to go, and counting.
I don't know how old your DS is, but I work in a primary school and we have some kids who are really struggling atm. A 2 week holiday never seems enough...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

He's 8; he often gets tired at this time of year, I don't think it helped that he was away with his Dad in October half term so really didn't rest then.
Tbh, DS1 isn't much better at 12. They're constantly fighting and it does my swede in  Roll on a week Monday and a jypama day0 -
I'm with you on that one!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

Well I feel like death on a stick.
It is the 9th anniversary of my nanna's passing.. so I'm a bit blue.
I am full of snots and grots and this damn mouth infection is driving me crazy.. I want to rip my tongue out.. in 3 days I have eaten 2 slices of toast, a bowl of corned beef hash and a galaxy.. and gained 3lb.. so feeling like a big fat flock even more than usual. My nose is red and sore as are my mouth and lips. I counted 12 ulcers on my tongue yesterday!
Dot was up at 4am.. and I got back to sleep about 6ish.
I've done no cleaning, no wrapping and no flinging... my house is squalid and I don't want to live in it.
As you can see I am a joy to be around today lol... I shall refrain from posting until I can put something more positive!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Going to do a hhc and then off to the train with DS2 for our uni visitThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Pigpen - sending every sort of positive vibe I can think of. Can you think of something that would make you feel just a little bit better?
Thank you, bossy and Iona. None of the items are chipped, just well used, so I'd prefer a charity. Will give the salvation army a call for starters. Found one which helps homeless families and refuges.
Dusty - hope you and DS2 enjoy the visit.
Looking at my list, I'd better get started in the kitchen. DS1 will be up in half an hour and needs to be on his way by 11.15.
