OH does beautiful wrapping.. but he will spend an hour doing 1 present!!! I keep his involvement down to a minimum lol

Most of the children are full of colds and grots too so it wouldn't be fair to ask them either.

Well in the last two hours I have peeled, chopped, par-boiled, prepared and mashed/frozen 5kg of par-boiled floured roasties and mashed potatoes :D Really pleased with myself as they were 24p for the 5kg and they lasted well while I was ill and couldn't be bothered. I've also prepared a shopping list, tidied up (mostly) after my kitchen session and I think later on I may make some mince pies for the freezer and force myself to go for a walk. I've barely been out in the last 2-3 weeks other than food shopping twice so I need a bit of fresh air to help lift my mood I think.

Pigpen, sometimes waking up and getting to the laptop should be seen as an achievement in itself, I think today you deserve a rest day, at the end of the day we are all on here as we want to be tidying but better healthy and rested in a dirty house than feeling ill and STILL beating yourself up for the jobs you inevitably wouldn't have the energy to get done as you're ill. Hope you feel better soon xxx

I wonder if newspaper would do a good job? I agree, great idea!

i put newspaper on top of my cupboards and change it every few months, it keeps them clean and stops that greasy dust bulid up thats a swine to clean off.

i always know if DH has wrapped the gifts to me or got one of the girls to do it. DS1 is the worst wrapper ever he can use a roll of paper and tape on one gift he just doubles it up round the pressie and binds it in tape. i am beginning to think tinfoil would be a better wrapping for men as it at least moulds to the gift

wm on stockings all sewn up just having a cuppa then going to make the labels

I think I need to buy and consume chocolate spread more often as I had it for supper last night and again for breakfast (still not fixed the toaster! Looked at new ones yesterday and think I'll get one on Friday when I've been paid ;)) and already WM on load 3 of 7, TD on load 2 and all dailies are done (although I need to do another batch of dishes after lunch). All my orders are roughly sorted out and now I just need to write the calling cards, print a couple of long winded ones out (one customer owes me over £100 since the end of October  ) and make sure I have lots of strips saying "Any orders not paid for my 17th December will not be delivered" to attach to the cards :D I am on a roll today....lets hope it keeps up :j:j

Pigpen - sending healing vibes by the truck load.

Off to start start stage 3 of work while I'm on a roll :D

Hugs for Dancemum and your DF.

Healing vibes for Pigpen and all Piglettes with sniffles, coughs and grot.

Mumto5: Did your boss not offer to replace the dog-munched lunch? I spend a lot of time apologising for mine and all she does is *sniff* everyone as she trots past them.

Bathroom needs a toothbrush-and-bleach-grout-type session today after a normal cleaning session. It's just looking tired. And I've still got to find a home for all the spices the two lodgers from Kerala left behind.
    Better is good enough.

    Hi :o

I don't really know where I've been. Not here or cleaning. I seem to only have been able to get up feed the baby and do the school run. Haven't even really fed others we've had take out and basic meals that even I can't be bothered to eat.

I have however made the bathroom cabinet and put it up, it's a little precarious, well it looks firm and feels firm but I know it's not. I also havr sorted out some info for two friends as promised.

So I am going back to basics, yesterday I made sure I did some washing. Today I will do washing and some ironing adding one thing each day. Whatever else happens or doesnt is no bother.

Tiny has been weighed today, now at 13lbs 15oz at 14 weeks, shes getting close to rolling over but not quite there yet. If she actually napped she may have more patience. Fluff had her first weekend sleepover with a friend of hers that isn't also a friend of mine. She's growing up!

Hugs to all those not their best, I do hate this time of year, I for one go into self destruct mode. Have s good day and apologies for being awol.

Stopped for an early lunch and updated my list - how can I keep going for 3 hours and have so little to show for it... (confused smilie needed).

I feel tired now. Will have a hot drink and write some cards so I can post them before collecting DS2. I managed without a nanna nap yesterday, but didn't have to collect DS1 from work the night before and had an early night.

Nicky - let me know how the choc spread experiment goes. I always have it in for the boys and could be tempted to give it a try. Lovely on a banana sandwich. :D

    Hi all.

Dancemum I hope DF is able to get off the High Dependency ward soon; must be so worrying for you.

Piggers I know you don't do hugs any more than me (though I do accept virtual ones) so a barrow-load of snots-gone vibes for your household, and special ulcers-gone vibes for you, as I know from experience how horrid they are.

    A quick question:

Does anyone have an idea what to do with our old dinner service? It doesn't look nice anymore and I've been given a much better one, but I don't want to throw it away if there's a possible use for it.
Ah, I see you've found a suitable charity, from your later post.:T When we had a spare dinner service (rather ugly and not able to use in the micro, and we actually have three other sets) we gave it to the local animal charity shop; they subsequently told us they sold it for £50 to a lady who did a lot of dinner parties and wanted to augment her own dinner service, which happened to be the same design.:T

Newspaper does work to line your cupboard tops. Use a recent one and you'll also be able to tell when you last cleaned up there ;)
But only if you won't die of shame the next time you clean up there.:rotfl:

That's exactly what I was thinking; and the dog in question needs to learn that thieving is unacceptable behaviour. It's unfair to the dog not to teach them this, imho, let alone the people whose food they pinch.

Technical Flying question: How best to dust, when there's a tonne of Yule [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] decs cluttering up all the surfaces (Mr LW insists we put out everything we own of that ilk) - I can't possibly move it all, it'd take an age; and if I dust round it, it'll show that it's not been done "properly" iyswim.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Dailies done.
    Cat stuff done.
15 minutes in bedroom and bed changed.
    Clean washing put away.

Been to vet and Ozzy has 2 lots of ear drops. Told her I would have a problem getting them in as on my own.He knows what Im going to do.
Won't tolerate being wrapped in a towel. Will try when he's sleeping. Also overweight so food cut down.

Just having a quick cuppa before a bit more flying.

    Hugs where needed.

That is a good idea Katykicker - same goes for me too! it is a lovely day here.

DH bless him thinks a day out for me now I am no longer working is to drop me at the nearest shopping centre for a browse whilst he reads a book in the car! That is what I used to prefer but not as much now when I have had just me myself and I for company all week!!! Not sure how I'd be faring without all you "lot" and I mean that in the nicest possible way - so thanks a bunch for your companionship and support. :smileyhea

Been paper frog eating this morning - totally forgot the time - so must have done 2 hours!!!! Yay me!! Still loads to go but nowhere near as much as there used to be:o.
