Humiliated in Asda again!!

For the second time this year, Asda has managed to upset me to the extent that I will have difficulty ever shopping there again.
I tried to use some money off SafeCoupons and after a great deal of consultation with various people including a manager, it was decided that they could not take them as they had " never seen these coupons before ". That was rubbish as I have used them in the same store in the past.
I eventually told them that I did not want the products relating to the coupons just so that I could get out of there, especially when the staff kept apologising to the people behind me in the queue. No apology to me.
When I got home, I phoned asda customer service who got in touch with the store who denied refusing coupons that day !! When I gave time and transaction number, they said it was because they would not scan:( but the duty manager said that if I went back with them they would honour them. I live 15 miles away and only shop weekly. Not exactly worth it for £2.50

It is blooming annoying when you are stood there like an idiot while the people behind you are looking daggers at your back but just get your vent out on here and try and let it go .
I once had a run in over a £5 voucher in JD sport where I got left to stand like a fool in the middle of the shop while they tried to phone head office to see what they should do because the voucher was not initialled by someone - naturally the entire dept they needed to speak to was out on an extended lunch and so they would not take the voucher (my husband had won it and we had already spent other vouchers from the same batch without any problems) . I tried writing to complain but may as well have battered my head off concrete so useless were their customer services - mind you I have never set foot in there again :beer:0 -

I had been overcharged and requested a £2 gift card which I got eventually but an assistant followed me round the shop and demanded to know from where exactly I had got the product for which I had been overcharged.0 -

Yes it did actually. I am elderly and disabled and do not expect to be treated like a criminal when I am not doing anything wrong.
For them to deny it happened when speaking to head office makes it that much worse.0 -

I can sympathise, I do like Asda though, the local Tesco I don't like.
I had similar in wetherspoons this week, I completed a survey which offered a £5 drinks voucher on a visit to another wethersoons the staff did not want to honour the voucher, there were other issues with the meal, so I called HQ the next day to lodge my dissapointment, I await to see if they refund the drinks or the whole meal cost.
back to Asda and tesco for that matter, yes they do ask to show where the incorrect item was from, Tesco seem worse for the mispricing I have found, with Asda often it is for instance Activia yoghurt 4 for a £1 but when the offer is off (£1.84), there is no price next to the item and it's only when you are at the checkout it is spotted.0 -

I might not have been humiliated, but I certainly would have been embarrassed and annoyed. I hope you feel a little better after venting your frustration?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
