Humiliated in Asda again!!

I doubt it because that was the first time I had been back in the 7 months since the previous incident. They did not attempt to scan them - they just refused them, saying they had never seen that kind of coupon before. They were SafeCoupons from Danone and Supersavvyme. I had used that kind of coupon in the same store in the last month without any problems.

Husband had been doing the shopping.
Maybe it is just me they do not like.0 -
I had been overcharged and requested a £2 gift card which I got eventually but an assistant followed me round the shop and demanded to know from where exactly I had got the product for which I had been overcharged.
This is standard practice, but you do seem to be over-dramatising it a tad.
If you paid for something and it was a different price on the shelves, then yes, an assistant will want to go with you (not following you around the store) and will ask you where you got it from (not demanding, not humiliating, etc). It's so they can correct their system or their shelves for future customers.
If you see it as them victimising you, then you might be best to let your husband do the shopping, or shop online.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

After bad service people always say "I'm never shopping there again etc", until the next week when they want more shopping!
A few years ago, I had a problem at Aldi trying to return a DVR. It was sorted out by head office customer services in the end - but I've never been back to that store!0 -
in future how would you like an overcharge to be delt with so you don't have to go to the customer service desk and them show somebody the error? We'll all que up and say weve been overcharged and the supermarket will just trust us all that where being whonest?0

The queues for the manned checkouts at my local Asda are shocking. I don't buy a lot as I live alone, and therefore use their self checkouts. If I do have a coupon to use, it needs approval for any amount! Even a Price Guarantee coupon for 1p that a guy on the s/c next to me was using.
Then they have sometimes ONE colleague manning 12 basket s/c and 5 self checkouts with conveyor belts. Its a large area and you are standing there for 5 mins waving to get attention. I think its quicker to get through a manned till...
At least Sainsburys allow customers to scan up to £2.50 of coupons - not the pre-paid newspaper ones, themselves and at Tesco, I have scanned £8 of coupons without assistance before. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I would have had no problem with them asking to see where I had got it from but the problem had already been dealt with - I had got my refund and £2 gift card. That was fine but one particular assistant claimed that I should not have got a gift card because I had got a refund and approached me later in the aisles and demanded that I follow her & show her exactly where I had got the product.0 -
I can vouch that the staff in ASDA are poor.Dont rock the boat

I feel really sorry for the experience the OP had but in fairness I have to say I think its about individuals, NOT a particular store.
Some of the staff in my local Asda are shocking but some are lovely.
I find the same pretty much everywhere.
We are not a country that likes to serve.
My policy is to complain whenever I feel service has been poor but also to call for the manager and COMPLIMENT whenever I've had above average service.
Only fair really and it is nice to sometimes be able to praise staff.:T
Too often we remember to complain but not the opposite.:o0 -
