I'd like to do one at some point, but as you asked first, I think it's your turn, Doozer :)

Sorry Nikk, I've been here long enough I should know that, but I know now :)

I think you will find that moving the boxes takes longer than you think it will, in just the same way that you are currently finding that packing them does.
    Undoubtedly!:o
I'm doing my utmost to be ruthless in the clearing out, so I'm not moving stuff I don't need. Whilst with some stuff I'm wondering why on earth I ever kept it, there's other stuff I really should be throwing but appear a bit reluctant..

Unpacking boxes is infinitely more fun than the packing :-)
Agreed! I'm actually quite looking forward to the unpacking.:)
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I thought the convention was ladies started the thread? (or perhaps that's just another convention?:o )

No no. The suggestion was made, and appears to have been adopted, that it would be easier to keep track of who'd done one and who hadn't if we divided people into categories. It's merely "ladies first" not "ladies only".

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OK, so now that our lovely new thread is ready for us all to settle in, is there any packing and tidying to be done here before we leave it completely?

I am off out to buy gardening gloves for some friends who say they lent me theirs that I have taken so long to return that I have entirely forgotten borrowing them. :o Although I have at least found their seccateurs (both pairs of them) so I don't need to buy replacements for those. :)

Hmm - who feels uncomfortable and to what degree about this thread not having 10k entries before we ask MsK to close it...although in reality PN is likely to come along with her secateurs and do some pruning making the magic 10k quite tricky to achieve.
    I think....

I'm glad somebody likes it. I find both the packing and the unpacking arduous and not fun at all. :( (Well, unless there are lots of friendly people to unpack with, and preferably it's not my stuff! ;)) But even if people enjoy the unpacking, surely nobody enjoys the unloading - carrying all the boxes from the van into the house???

I think the loading/ unloading is the least worst part of the process for me.

Judging by the amount of stuff which is still waiting to be unpacked in my 'dining' room, I'm not that great at unpacking. Judging by the state of the packing, I'm not that great at packing either (always starts off well, then ends up with things being shoved in bags as I run out of time).

Well, if we leave it as not a round number it will bug me for a little while - as long as both threads are around near the top of the board - and then once it's gone I'll forget about it.

OK, now I really am going to stop procrastinating and go and buy those wretched gardening gloves... together with a list of supermarket shopping that DS says we need. I did tell him I had too much work to do today, but he says he will sort out my mammoth pile of clean laundry into piles for each of the three of us, and put all his own stuff away, if I get some more food in, as well as cooking some of it tonight, which sounds like a good deal to me. :)

I don't think MissK will be the one locking the thread this time...?

In other news, I can pick up my broadband signal from the bottom of the garden! :D
