    I've been Money Tipped!
I like red cabbage a lot, but the texture's part of it for me - it's great to eat raw. So I don't think I'd turn it into juice.

    .
You might if you couldn't eat it much otherwise. ;)

Infact, i'd recommend it otherwise, loads of things are good prepped lots of ways!

It was delicious. I'm amazing I went so long with out raw food and relatively (in my terms) little complaint. Because for and I used eat lots of or raw veg/ fruit ( well, he still does) it felt a big adaptation for me and a really difficult one. Apples for example have been something I've pretty much a
Ways had no trouble with, and to 'lose' them because of the eating pl,an was difficult.

I'm hoping my theory works .....even for a while. Certainly the sugar is getting through :o. I have more energy

    Lj,

Is there a bed or somewhere weed free you can make a bed at the other place later in the season?

I think it will make you feel at home to have some produce at home. I'd go with easy things. E.g. I'd give brassicas that need netting a miss, but maybe get just a few toms?

Otoh, just this year it might be worth cheating and buying things started for you. It will remind you how much more variety there is by seed.

Wondering whether to get some toms in trays, then I can take the trays with me.

There is loads of space to put some veg. However I might just dio toms/lettuce this year, & watch where the sun is, planning for next year.
Why cannot I motivate myself to get ion the shower?

    Sigh.

Anyone want to come with me?
I bet michaels has already beaten me to this...;)

Sounds excellent - is the 2.1% fixed / base plus 1.6% tracker for the 15 years? Are there any arrangement fees / free valuation and legals?

My only reservation would be that 15 years on a repayment mortgage makes the repayments seem high. On a 25 year term with the flexibility to overpay you are covering yourself if you hit a sticky patch.

We took a sharp intake when we moved, even on interest only the amount looked scary.

That deal looks amazing. A bit of history:

When we bought in 1986 interest rates were striding up and our mortgage rate reached 13% at one point. To cover against a repeat, when we moved in 1993 we took a 7 year fix at 8.65%, we thought that was reasonable for the security it gave (had we found MSE we would have bought out of that). When we moved this time they offered us 4.99% fixed for 2 years, that we took again as a reasonable deal that gave some security. In the small print, that we never really looked at, it said the 2 year fix was follwowed by a life time tracker at BoE base + 0.75%, so now we are at a low od 1.25% and have been for a few years.

    Yes!!
Compare it to 30 years (not if I can help it, mind) at 3.39% for the next 5 years, potentially 3.99 after that (SVR so prob not by the time I get there...).

As silvercar says, and esp considering your ability to seriously overpay in the very near future, I'd definitely be looking to increase the term to get the monthly commitment down. You're not going to experience anything like the full term.

It's a tracker. Low rate is due to a deposit of over 40%
The ability to overpay at will helps, as I've a few bonds/regular savers cropping up in the next 18 months or so.

there are fees, can't recall what they are though.

There's no tie in, so if rates start moving, I can switch at will.

I'm not sure my brain needed an image of Michaels and GBD romping in a shower together - but it has it. Hmmmmm.

To do something regardless of the fact that it will obviously very badly hurt somebody you are supposed to care about is bad. LNE did that.

To do something vindictive in order to increase the suffering of somebody you are supposed to care about whom you have already hurt quite badly enough is worse. LNE did not do that.

We all do the first sometimes, I suppose - it's not a matter of binary, some people do it, some people don't, everyone is sometimes selfish, inconsiderate, half-witted, thoughtless, impatient etc. I've upset OH without meaning to, of course I have, and I hate upsetting him.

But as a matter of degree, while we all do it, some do it an awful lot more than others. That's what makes us cross with LNE, Lydia, because we think you're fantastic and hate the thought of you being hurt and upset. The same with Sue, and her ex.

LIR - I didn't mean to be insensitive about raw food eating, sorry if I was upsetting.

Most of the food I can eat at the moment is raw, fruit and veg. I can eat pasta sometimes, but rice is too heavy in the stomach.

I keep thinking that I need to wear heels more often (I have a fair few pairs, mostly pretty boring), then sticking to flats. I could do with a boost in height if nothing else! I think I wore heels maybe 5 times in total last year.

I usually wear not very high heels for work - not stiletto or teetering ones, but smart black work shoes shoes, 3 inch heels. At the moment, I'm only wearing flats, because heels of any kind make my hips and back ache (for the last month or so).

I have some going-out high heels too, but don't wear heels normally during casual dressing.

    Re children's books....

I have a shelf or two at ground level of books regular visiting littlies know they are allowed to help themselves to, its amazing how popular books are.

I can still recite all of Peepo, which Isaac adored until he was about 18 months old, and I read it so often, that it's engraved in my memory. He also liked the Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Burglar Bill, and Each Peach, and The Elephant and the Bad Baby.

My mother's working through !!!!!! King-Smith books with him when we go and stay there, they read Saddlebottom over Christmas.

Thank you. You all make me feel very supported and cared about.

I try to be fair in what I say about him. His controlling behaviour was damaging to me, and his affair was indefensible, so I'm not trying to defend it. It was the worst thing I've ever experienced. Nevertheless, I loved him once, he was the father of my kids, and he had many good points, for which I believe it's important that I give him credit where it's due.

I get very cross with Sue's ex too, so I understand why the rest of you get cross with LNE. I've been very angry with him in the past, but I've no intention of letting what he did poison any more of my life by hanging onto anger at somebody who's dead - I can't think of anything more counterproductive than to stay stuck in past trauma like that. Forgiving him gives me the freedom to move on with my life unencumbered.

I like to wear a little heel - only an inch or two but definitely not completely flat unless trainers. In winter I wear boots practically all the time except when I'm indoors in bare feet or just socks. I have ankle ones to wear with trousers and knee ones to wear with skirts. I get them in black leather, and get them reheeled and resoled as many times as I can before they completely wear out beyond repair.

My feet hurt if I wear anything higher than that for very long. Actually my feet are prone to hurting if I stand for any length of time regardless of footwear. My mother was the same. I blame her genes.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

With the exception of trainers at the gym and slippers in the house, I don't think I've ever seen Mrs McT wear anything less than a 4" heel in all our time together.

She reckons they're more comfortable? Although I suppose it must depend on what you're used to as much as anything else?

    It changes with age.

Women never admit their age, but their footwear is always a giveaway.

HID always wore heels, but in the last few years she has resorted to buying them to hang on her shoe rails.

Last time she wore her ridiculously high one's with a "concealed" platform, she fell down the steps at the Grosvenor House..............she blamed the heels, and as the perfect husband I didn't mention the 6 large G&T's and copious amounts of wine that had been previously consumed.............those ones are back on the rack now never to be worn again (although a new pair with an identical heel have made an appearance this week.............havn't seen the bill yet )

are you kidding? I know that ,

I'm so high on raw juice wouldn't care if that were the case.

I wear a mixture for casual dressing. Even when I loved them heels and minis in summer days? Nope. Vertiginous heels racing or polo? Only if you are there to be seen not to see. ( although it certainly is possible to walk on summer turf in heels, you stay on your toes, its tiring, and can have repercussions. .....there are times and outfits heels just ain't right with.
