Today, for the first time in AGES I am going to a conventional osteopath. I know doctors who would turn puce at the phrase conventional osteopath :)

My normal body worker is out of action, somewhat ironically, with a back problem and I'm feeling that while back is actually fairly comfortable my pelvis is not feeling like its 'sitting right'' and this won't be helping poor right leg if I'm right. I've been told to be wary of too much osteopathy for me, hence not seeing one for awhile, but I am really looking forward to a good crack. Osteo is a winter Olympic team osteo, which I thought was quite funny. I thought this would mean they were currently inundated but I called yesterday and got an appointment for today so....hasn't been a great advert for them.

When I first got here I spent a few days working in a place called Plumpton, in the Western Suburbs. I reckon at least half were obese, probably more like 70-80%. Probably half smoked.

If the people of Plumpton are plump, I'm just glad we never had smellyvision for Trumpton.

The banking details wouldn't be much good; banks suspend your accounts when you die. [ Which is the reason I think that every married couple with joint accounts should each have backup accounts with enough money to tide you over for a short period ]

!!!!!!, however, might increase the possibility of me turning up in Australia land.

However, might be hard to bring my great-grandparents due to not knowing who they are, due to grandfather being a crook who was disowned by them.

I don't mind the fact grandfather was a crook... I just wish he'd been better at it. He was a bad crook. He was always getting caught.

The doctor said that Leon is likely to be benign but I guess what the hell else are you going to say?

Frustrated and bored of seeing doctors is how I feel. And a bit cross to be messed around. It's nobody's faulty, im just generally grumpy about it.

Of course you are feeling grumpy - you wanted to evict that damn Communist, not grant him another temporary lease.

When my mother was first told she had tumours, though, she was told they were very malignant and not operable, and the prognosis was poor. Then they found out that the primary ones weren't lungs and heart after all, but non-hodgkins lymphoma. So I doubt it's something they'd "just say".

Oh, and the bloody missus put on facebook that I was seeing an "oncologist" so now I've got loads of messages asking if I'm about to expire and can they inherit my bike please.

That would p!ss me off. Have you asked her to keep more private things private from now on?

I can understand why she wants to vent, that . I made the mistake of accepting all those 'friend' requests from people I've not spoken to since I was 12. Now I've got all this faux sympathy in my life.

If me dying was so damn important to them why haven't they spoken to me for 30 years? It's the emotional equivalent of a semi-on whilst thinking of a might have been. A momentary emotional excitement whilst on the bus to work.

"Sorry to hear...". Rubbish. I might have had some hideous debilitating illness for the last couple of decades for all most of them know. Not all to be fair but I've had some right idiots crawl out of the mud.

I think the difficulty comes when partners need different levels of support.

Gen definitely needs his privacy respected, but his wife possibly wants/ needs friends to gather around. There might be some half way house measure here? Oncologist/cancer / tumour are hugely emotive terms even when, as we feel, Leon is mainly likely to be benign. Maybe 'consultant' or 'hospital" or 'doctors' are half way house words here?

'So sorry to hear' you have all the debilitating faux friends:D. Excising the friend list might be a way to go? :D

Gen's wife has an anxiety disorder, hasn't she?

In which case she probably isn't going to process this with the normal level of fear or concern. I mean, normal things like being late for appointments or going to the toilet in the office, or a random scratch they picked up, or simply taking the bus can terrify people with anxiety disorders (depending what the vector of the disorder is). This is not a normal thing, this is a scary thing even if it's probably benign.

Deleting my password for https://www.hot_naked_economists.com is going to be the last of my worries if I'm dead.

As for my bank details? If you want my overdraft you're welcome to steal it!
