Yay! Congratulations both of you.:j:beer::j
Can you tell us anything about it? Why did you pick this one?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I'll get round to getting NDB to sort it, in the fullness of time, I expect (-:mystic_trev wrote: »…… now Earthquakes. No doubt by June we'll be having swarms of Locusts!

When OH and Isaac was in Israel last Passover (I was doing my 3 mon trial, it was just ending) they were driving in the Negev when a locust cloud settled around them.
OH said it was awe-inspiring - the sky literally blackened, as millions upon millions of locusts descended. After the experience, he said he could totally see why the Israelites in the Old Testament saw it as one of the top ten God-sent plagues, he reckoned it would definitely make his hit list, too.
Being in a car was a lot better than being out in it, but it was impossible to see more than a few feet, and they had to stop and wait for it to pass. And the windscreen became covered with bodies several thick within a minute or two.
Isaac was fascinated, and wanted to get out to see them up close. He was restrained from doing so - open the door, and OH reckoned you'd have had several tens of thousands keeping you company in the vehicle sharpish....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I went to actual Bestival last year and it was great - generally a really nice atmosphere (though got a bit lairy in the field I was stewarding in on the Sat night...). I'd guess that Camp Bestival would be at least as nice as I think it is supposed to be even more family friendly.
That reminds me, I bought the fatboy slim/bestival disc off ebay. Less than a fiver, including p&p. Bargain! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
DH didn't know he was going to have a snap taken at work today. He got rushed in snapped then shown pic. He does indeed have horns in it. If he'd known he would have done hair a bit better at gym this morning.0

Many children would have needed counselling!
As a child of about 8 DD was up the garden when she suddenly started waving madly and jumping about. I did nothing and then realised something was wrong.
A swarm of bees had enveloped her. She had many stings, mostly on her scalp as they had gone into her hair and on her neck and hands. I collected quite a few stings as I tried to pull her clothes off and disentangle them from her hair.
Next door had a 'friend' seeing to their hives whilst they were away, and he had disturbed them at the wrong time of day. The bees left the hive in a state of agitation and came straight over the hedge to where DD was playing.
She said it was not the bees fault and does not seem to have an aversion. We have had a 'cast' and swarm here since.
Sounds bland now, but felt awful then.0 -

As someone who once scythed through an entire bees nest, I can appreciate that it would be awful for a young child to go through that. And, to be frank, very dangerous since your kid could have ended up with anaphylactic shock.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
