Where is Pastures? We need her to fill this in for NP as a sort of independent assessor.

If we do it ourselves we may not tell the truth.
One answer must be because I keep carrier bags .... is that posh? I only keep them so I can use them as a kitchen bin and because you need to take your own to Lidl.0 -
A bit like when I read the Hunger Games trilogy in a weekend?!
Yes.
Really good fiction is a joy. Fiction that makes you want to gobble it all up but you also want to savour.
I also saw today (I am so slow:o) that the book thief is now a film. I wish we'd waited for that. Its been years since I went to the cinema, I wonder if we can make it weeks, I can eat POPCORN again!0 -
What would make mini eggs water proof? Or is risk of people eating them and croaking too great?

I'm guessing that's a strict no no now! (Edit, fwiw I have only ever bathed with nieces as tiny tots and no one else's baby and frankly, nor would I want to!)
I remember sharing baths with Isaac as a baby, and it's lovely - they have so much more freedom to move in water than they normally do, and he used to chuckle and obviously just adore it. Great fun.
At the moment, he has to evolve from being a sea creature to a land animal every evening before he can get out of the bath. Fortunately, it's a compressed process, otherwise he'd only get bathed every few million years.....About the same as you (thank goodness my daughter got herself a car!), but I strongly suspect that you are actually much posher. I was at uni with someone called Rupert, and I've just emailed a Philippa for work, so that's one box ticked.
One of our long-standing friends unexpectedly became a Lib-Dem Lord, but he's most definitely not posh, although awfully nice, unpretentious and very hard-working. He's called Monroe (that's his first name). How unposh is that?
It definitely helps that we keep carrier bags.
I disagree with some of the judgement calls they have made. If you have had a ski lesson, that's supposedly posh. No! You learned to ski without lessons. Now, that's posh.
I don't think I am posh, really. Well aware that my parents' generation was the first on either side of the family to attend university, and that my grandparents all left school fairly sharpish to go and earn a living (my Granny was made to leave school at 12, when the leaving age was 14, in order to care for her "invalid mother", who died when I was 3 years old.....)
I didn't grow up with gold taps, diamonds, fancy restaurants, or anything. We did have a nice home, good holidays and private education, that was about it.
The result of attending the boarding school I did was to think how bottom-of-the-ladder my family was - we just had one normal house in London, and one normal house in Kent. My closest friend at that school was rather different - her father got around by helicopter, and their family house had a helipad, indoor and outdoor riding schools, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a golf course.....lostinrates wrote: »What would make mini eggs water proof? clear nail varnish?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Would definitely be a talking point at the Parish Council meeting :rotfl:0 -
We've noticed that, taking the train to Penzance, before - it's an inter-city until Exeter, roaring along, hardly ever stopping, then becomes a local train afterwards, and stops at every hay stack and electricity pole on the way. Odd mixture, really....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Just as well you like bathing with them really! Amazing to think another one is going to 'evolve' from living in fluid to dry land soon.
Tbc, I didn't mind bathing/showering with nieces, giggling water babies are fun but I'm not desperate to leap in with other people's kids. I think its something you do with kids you are taking care of because its easier and bonding. I don't think I can imagine doing it with someone else's child into days crazy world.
Couple of years ago on a really hot day visiting toddler (who starts school this year ) was here with his mother and was not, and DH was hot, so they oth stripped down to pants/nappy and got in a water trough and then chased each other with a hose. I think an important part of that (regretfully) spontaneous thing was that his mother was there.0
