That's one happy tabby!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Sounds like you had a good day
I've been writing today so no garden time for me. Pity, but it's been nice to look at the blue skies.
The main thing we did out side was sweep somewhere that had fallen in to disprder and place some troughs we are going to use as planters. DH lugged breeze blocks to stand them on and drilled drainage holes while I swept the left over coarse stone from building work to be drainage then we started filling them.
Well, we thought we'd get all three done, but filling one took ages. As we're not putting the hops out in them till we know what the weather is doing we stopped after the first for the wood splitting. The one we filled I put a couple of violas in for that half hearted attempt at jollity look. Big planters look so mean with light planting. I'll have to think wiser for next autumn / winter.
I'd really like to keep it edible flowers or scented so might have to go pansies for winter there...though scent would be nice!0 -
We've had a mostly-indoors day - Geology Museum. Yesterday, Isaac and OH attended a lecture at the Wallace Collection, but I opted out, feeling weary after a long week and another long one looming. Isaac's capacity for London's museums and lectures held in them outstrips most adults (including his loving parents)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

I have been out and inspected the trampoline. All parts are around, the legs look fine but the rim is warped. I reckon one side would be a foot higher than the other if all legs were on the ground.
Enough to make it unusable I reckon.
Had a look at ours, everything is fixable except one of the safety net supports that was bent at 90 degreees, it is a hollow tube so even though I have bent it back, at the bend it is flat and thus has no strength - odds or being able to replace this one smallish part = 0 and it is definetly not really safe as if you went hard against that section of the netting the pole would bend again and snap off leaving a very dangerous broken end....

I think it is aluminium, could our local garage do some sort of weld repair?
Doubt that's a possibility, but depending on the diameter of the aluminium you might be able to get a replacement from a garden or allotment supplier shop. I got an email shot from Harrod Horticultural yesterday, they do some aluminium tubing. Suspect you could get something similar on eBay cheaper. Or if that diameter is wrong, you might be able to finds some the right size on eBay.
Edit: the above is straight tubing - what shape is your broken piece? If it's angled it'll be more complicated to replace, and might even be cheaper to replace whole thing?0 -
Feeling rather relieved that our trampoline was dismantled when the garden was razed and levelled, and hasn't been put back together yet. The pile of pieces of it seems undisturbed.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Just posted this on the Techie Stuff forum, and thought I'd put the question to the NP too. All suggestions gratefully received:Hi everyone
I can't find anybody having asked this question before, but apologies if I've missed something.
The computers I use at work have mice that I find very easy to use - clicking the mouse is easy, I don't have to press at all hard, and I never have any trouble clicking in the right place. However, it's different at home. The wired mouse I've been using for ages has always been annoyingly stiff, but the wireless mouse I've recently bought is much worse - about 5% of the time I find I've clicked on the wrong thing because getting the left mouse button to click requires pressing so hard that I jolt the whole mouse and the cursor moves slightly. My mouse hand also gets very tired if I use it for any length of time - not a good thing for somebody with a history of RSI. Strangely, a gentle click is quite sufficient when clicking the wheel - for example to open a web page in a separate tab.
So I'd like to buy a new cordless mouse with really gentle clicks. But of course I can't go into a shop and try any out because they're all inaccessible inside their packaging. So I wonder if any of you lovely people can recommend one to me. I would be very grateful if you could.
Thanks.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Could you just find out what kind are used at work, and get one of those?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
