Been back to Glastonbury again today and then westwards to Bridgwater to get on the M5. Made a bit of a detour to get some pics of the flooding to share with you lot. Will try to post them in a little while if I can work out how to get them off my phone and onto this new laptop.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Do any of the NPs know about phones? I received a phone call from someone about 2.30pm this afternoon. They hung up and I put my cordless phone back down on the table. Just picked it up and noticed that the timer had gone up to seven hours 45 mins. I was waiting for a call, so presumably that's why they didn't get through. But can I be charged for anything or is it just like leaving a phone off the hook? As I say, they called me, but def hung up. I didn't call anyone after. Can do without a big phone bill. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Glastonbury tor was an island , or at least had, historically, according to local legend, two island names. Locals report it being called both isle of Avalon and isle of glass.0 -
No big phone bill for you, viva. The caller dictates the connection on landlines.
I know this from teenage boys who called and wouldn't get off my line when I wanted to phone my schoolfriends. :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If I'd been him, I'd have set up a drainpipe on some bricks, then all you have to do is bend down and lift the water up to the drainpipe. No trudging too and from.
Feel sorry for him. Hope he got the insurance sorted before he moved in.
Or even better get a siphon set up. The stream/river across the road was much lower than his plot - it was like his bungalow was set down in a hollow. _pale_I felt really sorry for him too, he had his Dad helping him, made me feel like crying for both of them.

It's three weeks now since going through the red light to let an ambulance through. I'm starting to hope that's the end of it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

If you weren't stopped at the time then you are safe, zag. They have to serve a Notice of Intended Prosecution within 14 days before a conviction can result.0
