+1. Very eloquently put
I wouldn't go that far. Think I'm all out of eloquency today.
Had to give part of a a presentation this morning to which the whole department (incl some colleagues abroad) were invited
Also had a couple of emails that had come in over the weekend that needed acting on today (incl one which technically should have given 45 days notice so took all the powers of charm I could muster to get it done asap).
Feel like I did a weeks work today.0 -

Poor you.
We got as far as pretty flood town, couldn't get parking and had down some other errands first ( including taking five boxes of books to the tip for recycling) then because of delays and dithering and no parking had to come home, which made me grumpy about waste of petrol.
We were going to go back first thing tomorrow but now one of the important service providers wants to come in first thing.
So might have to leave that job to Saturday. Grump.
I get edgey all these slow days where little head way is made because it feels so wasteful. We did try and get a puppy sitterfor tomorrow evening but cannot, We might try the new cinema though if I'm ok. They can cope without us for the length of a film.

I hope you know that I wasn't comparing my slightly busy day to people who have had to abandon their houses etc
At least I feel like I've earned my keep today.0 -
Wheezy, are you in a safe place? Just realised you're not a million miles away from affected areas. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

(Edit, fwiw, we have a fail safe for this I have only ever used with Renewable Living here. We got the deposit back today from the sheriffs.)
Well done! Very well done. I bet that made his day :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd stick it in a letter with invoice numbers and copies etc cc'ing trade body and be utterly charming, as you always are.
It will ultimately reflect well on you and you'll hold your head up high knowing your dealt with it like a 'lady'. I know its easy to say, especially when I've rathe last 18 months there have been times when I have felt like taking double page spreads in local papers warning customers of our issue, and attending the trade fairs for Eco building and renewable energy etc with t shirts printed about our dodgy company (having shown dh the immersion thingy even he sniggered at my latest suggesting of a renewable living t shirt.....' You call that six inches? ' (not fair they never actually told us how big the immersion was other than bigger than standard, and its decidedly under average. But ultimately knowing we behaved ourselves means we can decide what to do now about publicity with cooler heads.0 -

Huh? Know, I was saying poor busy you! Life goes on for everyone. You have to earn your living regardless of the people who have lost their homes, And a heavy day is no less exhausting because of someone else's tragedy.
Apologies if I sounded trite, I really didn't mean to, I was genuinely sympathising!0 -

I think I'm more aware of how self-centred I am after mentioning it on the NPT.
Doesn't stop me being so though0
