I wonder if any of the designers that have been on the programme are working as designers now?
There's one here.
I'm glad the woman who won won it, as I thought the chap's "mural" was dreadful, though his hall was great. And his hand painted tiles. But most of rest I hated (especially the stripy room that made me feel if I went into it I'd fall over - have vestibular disorder that makes me feel dizzy anyway, but that stuff would just really make me fall over.
I just thought her stuff was much more in keeping with the house.
And so chuffed that it was set in Liverpool, the Most Wonderful City in the World!
OK, it's Beyond The Pale where Herts (or even Outer Herts) is concerned, but I love it! Yey Liverpool! Glorious City! Has more Georgian houses than Bath!
Sorry, just got a bit carried away there! :rotfl:0 -
I loved the mural. But I agree, the woman was the better designer, more stylish.0

I didn't think she picked quite the right shade of blue for the guest room though. It would annoy me if I was staying in that room!0 -

I'm not a blue person, so its hard for me to gauge.
The owners LOVED it, which is the important thing. It also worked with the orange blanket beautifully.
Would I choose it? No, but that's why interiors are fairly personal!
Edit: I also think she had a hard job, the house was pretty nice before, the owners had a keen sense of style, I loved their acid/chartreuse sofa. The books as decoration upset my sensibilities a little though...books are for loving, not looking at.0 -
All the best zag. I hope it all works out ok.
Another cool day today although I've clearly gone soft as I was shivering slightly this am when it was 18C. It's going to be a beautiful weekend: 28C and sunny. Lovely.
Hope everyone's coping with the Tube strike. It reminds me of a quote from a senator who remained in place until well into his 90s. He suggested resolving a steel workers strike by drafting them all into the army, ordering them to work and then to have any that refuse shot for insubordination! I think it's being viewed as a bit of an oddity over here, people can't really get their heads around it.0 -
I wanted to ask the cricket fans on here what they think of letting Pietersen go. I don't follow cricket, sorry I find it boring, but he was quite exciting to watch. I wanted to canvass opinions on whether a) it is right to rebuild the team from the ground up, or b) he's such a prodigious talent (heard him described today as the Cantona of cricket) that they have to find a place for him. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
