There's easy parking there, but it would be a nightmare drive - through the northern bit of the City, then central, then the West End and Knightsbridge etc. The roads will be packed jammed, because of the strike.
The worst that can happen with public transport is that I need to walk to Waterloo to get the overground, and it's not that far - about 2.5 miles each way. Walking 5 miles in a day isn't going to do me any harm (although I'll probably get very wet, the way the weather is at the moment)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Although you might look at the bigger picture and think "I'm loaded, I'll suck it up for my own sanity/safety and I'd hate to get morning sickness among the spitting classes on those days"
If you were silvercar I'd add "... just go easy on your expensive shampoo for the next 3 months, that'll cover it"
£280 in taxis!? I've spent 10% of that on shampoo and conditioner, not quite hundreds of pounds!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Get some self-driven tube trains in there and the whole network can be run by robots0 -

I had to do that sort of drive sometimes clerking when I couldn't handle the tube and carrying or just the walking . Stupid drive to just a couple of miles away from where I lived to pick up files then a crawl to some where else. I used to ask for out of London files so at least I had a reason to get in the car!0 -

And the robots are less likely to go on strike0 -

GRRRR.. auto correct strikes again. Driverless, not friendless...
:rotfl:
I like the friendless train0 -
Apparently a tube driver will be on £50,000+ by the end of next year.
The formula seems simple:
1. Demand a massive pay rise
2. To on strike and bring London to its knees
3. Get a very large pay rise.

Whilst a student DD volunteered to man a mobile office in Toulon for a Tall Ships event. She had to pay her own travel expenses.
Her flight into Marseille was very late landing, her luggage was missing and her planned train journey to Toulon would have been delayed until the next day. So she took a taxi!
It used up her entire funds. It had not occurred to her to ask the cost.
She was clad in race t shirts for a week.0 -
How's she doing spirit, continued upward trend I hope?0
